Going to get a set? Which do you prefer, sinister or aviator, and why? Do the 509 quick straps work on the aviators too?

TIA

I like the aviators over the sinisters because they don't have a frame to hold snow. The quick straps that 509 offers are just adapter straps, not quick straps.

I have both and so far like the aviators better, they seem to fit a little better but they are both great goggles.

I use and like both, no quick straps on either for me. The field of view of the aviators is hard to beat.

I went through two sets of Sinisters this winter, the foam came off both so I could not recommend them. The first set lasted one ride and the second set about five rides. I bought a set of Aviators a couple of months ago and they have been perfect. My Spy Goggles lasted five seasons and hope these Aviators last like they did!

Have the aviators. I'm really liking them alot. Lenses seem to scratch to easy. Thats the only downside.

Aviators for the win!

If you had some 509 product issues contacting them has resulted in a positive experience for most.

I have the aviator polarized kit and a pair of sinister black ops, and I love both. I do prefer the aviators though. I have quick straps on both and have ran into no problems. I wear glasses with my goggles, and the sinisters to have a better fit over my glasses, but the aviators fit just a bit tighter.

Sounds like you got 2 bum sets. Rare, but happens. Hope you called us (1-877-743-3509), because we'll definitely replace them with two brand new shiny pairs!

Tried a lot of goggle including Smith I/O and Smith Turbo Fan which are really expensive. The Aviators are as good or better of half the money. I use the quick straps, wish they came stock that way. As others have said the mirrored finish goggle scratch really easy. The finish can actually be rubbed off. 03rmking what is the deal with that? The yellow lens works great in the trees on flat or low light days. I won't buy goggles that you can't swap lenses in and the yellows from 509 are only $20.
