5 Summits on 22' Alumna Trailer

I was just wondering, we always haul 5 Ski Doo Summit 800s on our 22' Alumna trailer when we go out west to Wyoming which is about a 10 hour drive for us. Obviously this is a four place trailer, but it should be plently durable enough to haul the 5 sleds right? Just wanted to make sure we weren't pressing our luck on the trailer. It has the oversized 13" tires as well as electronic breaks.

Weight

So 5 x 550 = 2750 lbs. I'm not sure what your trailer weighs. I might be light on weight depending on gas in tank, etc. and other gear?

Might have 2500# axles so that mean the trailer can't weigh more than 2250# or you are too heavy.

The sidewalls of your tires give the capacity of each tire. Take it times 4 and hopefully it's more than your two axles combined.

Either can be the limiting factor. Aluma must publish the GVWR.

4 sleds (2 side by side) and then number 5 crosswise? Technically you can't go past 102" so maybe your sleds aren't at least 144's?

There is (3) 151" (1) 154" and (1) 159". We run the first two straight up the trailer. Third sled gets turned around backwards between those two and push the front back ends to the side. Run the last two straight up the trailer. Works very easy and actually has PLENTY of room to spare. Then we strap some storage boxes with tools etc on the trailer. 22' works perfect for five sleds. I will have to look at the weight restrictions. Was just wondering if anyone else does this. Figured whats the difference if we have five Ski Doos or four Yamahas!

I'm pretty sure there are people on here who have that identical trailer that have taken the hitch & axles off & mounted the 22' deck on their 1/2 ton with a short box.
Works great if you put air bags on!

The axles on that trailer are rated at 2200 lbs each so there's 4400 lbs. The fat tires are rated at 1105 each so that would be 4420 lbs... not sure what the 13" tires are, you'd have to look. The 22' trailer weighs 1105 lbs (the front ramps are an accessory so they aren't factored in) so you have roughly 2900lbs of payload capacity to play with.

Those trailers are built tough... Aluma construction is impressive on this application IMO.
