A buddy and I are planning a family trip up to spring creek off of I-70 on Sunday morning. Anybody else want to tag along. Pretty fun Jeep trail but still tame enough for the family.

Is spring creek north or south of I-70? A group of us from the valley will be in Fairplay this weekend. We will be running Wheeler lake Sat. You guys are welcome to join in.

Post your trail rides up over on http://www.quadswest.com We need more wheelin' trails over there. Plus I wanna see some good pics of these places. I love seeing where people can take their quads. I haven't ever heard of these you guys are riding.

I would like to meet some new snowesters,
and love spring creek trail, good time of year to be up there.
But my buddies and I are renting some dirtbikes and going up to Rand.
Maybe next time.

Where is spring creek? We are going to be in Breck early AM for a meeting. Then its fall colors for the rest of the day.

I'll have an open seat if anyone wants to tag along. I'll be in downieville at about 9:30.

PM me if you want, i'll check back in the morning.

Of course, you wanna ride?

I would in a heartbeat...but with all the camping this summer I have fallen a little behind on the homestead. Gotta get things straightened out before snowmobiling consumes every free moment.

Have a great trip and keep those hands outta tight places

skibreeze How was your trip, we had 6 rigs show up to run Wheeler Lake. The trail was very busy, large groups ahead of us. Everyone had a good run. This was sat could not get over to spring creek sunday, mabye next time.

It started out badly, we got up to the Greenland exit and Ben's ignition coil took a dump. So I towed him back to the springs and had to wait 45 minutes for a store to open, they didn't have a coil, so I went to another one close by. I come back to see 3 cops surrounding Ben's jeep! Apparently somebody with a black jeep committed a brutal home invasion, so 15 minutes later we were on our way. (I was installing the coil the whole time they were talking and taking pictures.) So now it's 9:20 and we just decided to go to Hacket, Longwater, and Metberry gulches. Had a good day after that.
It's interesting to see the Hayman burn area, the ground cover is all back and the aspens have been growing back like crazy and they are turning as well. Some of the burned pines are starting to fall and the tops of others snap off. Some places look real erie with all the black trees. 137,000 acres sure covers a ton of land, it's amazing that you look for miles and still see the burn.

Just cell phone pics.
