Rode my back yard yesterday...
Kickin out off the cornice on July 2...
CO Matt droppin...
CO Matt, getting his tripod sidehill on. We found that we could slide our outside foot along the snow, kinda like barefooting, it was pretty interesting!
Matt got himself into a bit of a pickle above a chute climb... we had to do some engineering to get his sled down safely.
Me (and armysledder off camera) belaying Matt's sled safely down to the rocks. We dug in two shovels like flukes, tied double munter hitches on them & slowly brought the sled back down to safety (been climbing since I was 8, some of that stuff comes in handy from time to time). Slope was 43 degrees where he was stuck, and it suddenly turned stiff, and he had no traction to keep climbing.
Peter, the true Badazz!!!
This guy rides where I do as much or more than me. Wool gloves, OLD teles... dude is what CORE REALLY MEANS. He won't take a ride, but is super friendly to all the sledders, and they all show him the same love back... Hung out with him for a while,
Peter could teach CLASSES on how backcountry people SHOULD BE!
There were bus sized pieces of cornice in places, I found this one rather interesting though!
And my favorite shot, on the way out.
Co Matt, Armysledder, and Bparks, on the way home. It doesn't get better than this does it?
Sledding Yesterday, Rode Downhill bikes today, then came home & put in our new hot tub.... life is good & the weekend isn't even over!
