4 place deck

I remember seeing that too... any idea how the front of it was braced? I imagine it had to have some supports that bolted to the frame up front some place.

I remember seeing one at the Super 8 in Dubois a few years ago.

I wondered at the time where you would put 4 peoples gear?

Like this? I saved this pic from here, not sure who it belongs to.

I got dibs on one of the cab spots.:D I would think that back section better have some sort of ram that lifts the back section up level other wise it would be pretty sketchy for the back 2 sleds. But if it dos the handling would prob go to crap since the center of gravity is so high. Pretty unique looking though.

Edit, after looking at the pic, it looks like the back section may tilt forward so it sits on the bed( the front of the ramp is beveled back intead of being strait, may help in clearance as it tilts down) anyone know? Still think a sled deck with a 2 place would be safer.

sweet. you got the whole box of the truck for gear. does the bed lift up so you can close the tail gate?

Wow! Anyone have more pictures? Theoretically you're talking about ~2400lbs + gear + riders

Stability can't be that good...

Saw one in Valemount last season and I just about burst out laughing at it because it was poorly done. He had the posts what appeared to be welded to his a-pillar part of his cab. I'm sure the insurance company and DOT would LOVE to see that:rolleyes:.

That truck would be waaaay overloaded.
My deck, 2 sleds, gear and passengers, tools.. etc is on it's limits. add 1300 pounds above the cab, especially on a SRW and you are asking for trouble.
a 3000 pound camper has most of it's weight below the top of the cab...

Guess some guys should not have trucks...

Thanks JSX, yes that is one of the ones I remember and there was one on a green Ford and it did sit level on the box. I like the idea of having the weight on the truck and not towing it. With the weight of the newer sleds coming down in the last few years (thats if you don't have an Apex) the truck should handle it fine. Easier to turn around on the mountain roads and the parking at the motels is getting tighter with most everyone having 4 place enclosed trailers.
If the owner is on here, just interested as to what the total weight was and if that is a 350 or 450 Ford.

My neighbors been running a 4 place deck for many yrs on his Ford crew cabs. I know that he always runs SRW trucks. No duallys.

I think someone posted pics of his on here a few yrs ago. Can be spotted in Newberry, Mich (UP) and Rabbit Ears (Col) mostly. Not sure if he would have been in Dubois or not? They have sold at least two of their early models. Could be one of those?

Theirs look like a tube chassis setup. Not like the one in the pic.

I think he runs a dark green truck these dayz?

BTW - I wouldn't want to ride in it! I'll drive seperate - thank you very much.
