4/17 @ Stevens Pass

Hit Stevens Pass with TomMTX yesterday to survey the situation up yonder in them hills, to contact our inner bubba and sled about the backside looking for fun features for weekend plans of snoMOboarding and coors light drinking, sledslashing and bagel sammies..

the snow line was just above the base of the backside a wee bit up from the chairlift base.. the snow was 8 to 10 inches in spots of heavy NW poohtatoes, but still fun. the coverage is killer! lots of snow left for a while.. the road out, still fresh groomed and smooth, probably be toast after this weekend, but luckily its only about 3 to 4 miles to the area anyways.

we snapped a few pics

with dropping snow levels and more on the way, this weekend will be pretty fun out there..

Tons of fun. Hardly any other sleds on the hill and plenty of fresh tracks to be found. Although watching your sled roll down a hill and flip over a good 10-15 times is kinda traumatic. Bound to happen sooner or later though. :face-icon-small-win:beer;

where do you unload??

Nice pics man...

where exactly do you unload to ride stevens? Is the area pretty big? Can you keep riding further back off the ski resort and into the backcountry? I've been wanting to hit the riding up there so I'm just curious what to expect.

Unload at the Nordic center, it's about 3-4 miles past the ski area on the right when the road splits. The area itself is pretty small. You can cover the whole thing in an hour or two.

For more adventure, there is a cut back into the trees off the "Outer Limits" Cat Track. Its right on the corner, follow the single track up into Joesphine Lake area. That might actually be Wilderness Zone out there, I'm not sure.

tomMTX- Thanks for the info bro. Sounds like I should take a peek at a map to make sure we do not stumble into the wilderness.

i saw on sunday they put up signs on that cattrack corner, where the trail in would start to the lake, its a no go pretty much, saturday there were no signs, sunday there were cuz people had gone back there...

i took a picture of this map before i threw it away.. i'll see if i can post it later..

cmud - you pretty much answered your own question before you asked it. 7th Heaven is frontside. The riding area on the backside is pretty small like TomMTX said. There are better places to go.
