The doo guy's say they run 3"pitch tracks on there 2.86 drivers with no problem, can I assume the same is true for the polaris guys??
174x2.5 by 3" on a stock pro drivers is what is in mind......

3.00 track on 2.86 drivers

I was wondering about this myself so I thru a 153 power claw on my 155 pro with stock drivers with middle driver removed. Yes it works but after about 500 miles the nubs that drive the track started to wear and deform. The 2.86 drivers, drives the track off the top nub were the 3.oo pitch drives off the bottom the most, making you have to run the track really tight with the stock drivers to keep form ratcheting. I ended up getting the proper drivers for the reason that I am going to keep this sled for awhile so might as well have it right.

Hope this helps

as they say, just because it can be done, doesn't mean it should be done. yes, technically it does work, but it doesn't work very well. i would suggest spending the extra 200 to get the correct drives rather than prematurely wearing out a 700-900 dollar track. something about cutting off your nose to spite your face... it always sucks spending more money, but sometimes it better in the long run. i have learned this the hard way, way too many times... good luck

The 174x2.5 extreme will be tough to get on the pro, with 7 tooth 3" pitch the track will hit the chaincase and 8 tooth will be too big.
Avid chaincase looks like the only correct option.............
I guess that would workout good as we can switch to a 3" track!!!
Thanks guys

Not entirely true. I know of a couple Pro's running around with 2.5 camo's I installed, 2.86 pitch, with stock drivers, running great with no clearance issues. Is the Avid chaincase the better way to do it? Yes. But it can be run on stock drivers. Although I do not reccomend the 3.0 track on 2.86 drivers..basically what PV said.

Isn't that only available in a 16" wide... besides the drivers... you will need to cut about 1/2" around both sides of the track.

I was running a camo extreme 3" pitch with 2.86 drivers and all it did was rachete no matter how tight the track was. I went and purchased 3" Avids and no more problems. I have read that some guys do not have any problems when running a 3" with 2.86 drivers but my experience was not good.
