I currently have a 2007 apex se with an mcx kit in it set at 12 lbs. i want to set it up to 17/18 lbs boost and was told by PG yamaha that i needed a larger turbo to do it. I thought you could just set the wastegate and only required a different fuel pump. I thought the mapping in the 07/08 kits allowed for this and didn't require a turbo change. Who has upgraded from 260 to 310 and what was required to do it? I understand fuel requirements and clutching changes but a turbo?

Im not sure whom you spoke with but there out to lunch, completely.

All you need is the box re-mapped and an external mcx fuel pump. They charge 100 cdn for re-map and 369 cdn for the pump. Talk to Harley or Don, and if they tell you that you need a new turbo tell em to shut it and send the pump and do the re-map.

The pumps super easy to install, 10 to 15 mins at most. If ya have an issues lemme know dude.

Thanks Darko, that's what i had thought ( wasn't sure of the reflash).

Do some face stretches, the smile's get bigger with each lbs of boost.

12lbs=:)

17lbs=:D

I changed from a '06 260 to an '07 310 and just added the pump with the new box, which was 310 programmed already. The 16t is efficient to 21lbs. My TCV sensor was bad so I replaced it with a manual controller which I have set to around 18-19lbs. Makes 12lbs seem like you went back to a 2 stroke with a buck fiddy on tap.

If you ride varying elevations and snow conditions a Shockwave helix is the ticket. Works like a damn. Otherwise do a search or pm Darko for the word on clutching 18lbs.

No giggling aloud, unless no one is around.
