THis site appears to use historical data...probably uses an algorithm to calculate probability and statistical odds of precip...here is a quote from their site"
"These calculations are prepared for a specific date and geographic position to create a pseudo physical model of the dynamics of the atmosphere."
In Western WA, we are seeing an unusually warm, dry inversion layer for this time of year. This website is showing 70% and higher chance of rain, when we are seeing clear, sunny days.

Seems to be out on a limb about a mile. Considering that the metierologist(sp) can't even predict what the forcast will be the next day, let alone someone knowing what the weather is going to be like in a month from now
most of these weather sites/peeps can't predict yesterdays weather
There was a sledder killed by wesington south dakota about a month ago, not a avy but hit a rock and got flung into a rock pile, we dont have anything like avys here in the flats but there is enuf other things to watch out for and just as dangerous as a avy if you ask me. I was out last year with a broken leg because i hit a rock in a ditch and it flung me a foot more to my right I would have been impailed on a steal fence post. Makes ya stop and think when your out riden.
