So my son in law purchased a new 450 KTM, they tried to sell him a 3 year engine warranty... Ive never heard of this before. On a four stroke 4 wheeler-ya, but on a dirt bike/snowbike They wanted $1300. Anyone ever added this warranty to a bike?

just bought a 2016 450xcf from the dealer and they said warranty was 30 days. no offer for extended warranty

It must be from the dealership he purchased it from... 3 year engine for $1,300 hmmm.... for a snowbike..... is that worth it?

the finer things

better study the finer fine print on that extended warranty, most exclude modifications to the bike and likely throwing half the bike away and adding a snow bike kit would void any warranty coverage.

Most extended warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on. Any of them I have ever dealt with say "NO MODS", and legally that means if you change your grips from the stock KTM grips to a nice Renthal, your done! A lot of them also require you to have the dealer perform all of your routine maintenance as well such as oil changes, air filter service, tires etc. Keep your $1300 and put it down on red 21.............

Another thing to look at on a warranty, that isnt offered by the manufacturer, is how solid is this company? If the company goes out of business, your warranty paper is now bird cage lining.
