3" track ?

I am itching to buy a 3" track but have a couple questions.

First, will it be the best thing for not getting stuck
when riding in a fresh dump of Colorado deep powder?

Second if I decide to get one, I can't decide which sled to put it on,
my 12 M1100T 162 or my 13 Summit 800 sport.
It would be a 15x162 on the Cat and a 16x156 on the Doo,
using 7 tooth drivers and no other mods.

Any helpful opinions would be appreciated.

thanks

dan

Can't speak for your snow but, in Ak there is not another track that works better that I have seen. Huge difference over the 2.5.

I would put it on the turbo, if it was me. Josh

Easy answer

Put it on both you won't regret it unless you do lots of hi speed trail riding then don't put a3 in on either. To put one on the turbo is easier and cheaper as the stock drivers work perfectly. I have a174 3 on mine and it's unbelievable the difference it makes over stock

Put it on Cat. Unless you are going to do the job right and do the extended chaincase on the DOO. 60%+ failure rate with 7 tooth drivers on Doo in last 2 years. There are all kinds of keyboard experts will tell you otherwise, but I deal with facts!

The Tracks fail?

The Tracks fail?

They can, not always, our numbers are 60% in 2 years.
There were some lamination issues in the past with certian production runs, (some of those tracks still sitting around, be careful what you buy) so that's one thing. Then track tension can also enter into it as tracks try to balloon under full throttle. Lastly when these issues all come into play the paddles hit at the front of the tunnel and paddles come off. That's not the tracks fault! It's not an issue with Yamaha as there is more room in the tunnel. We have never had a warranty claim with extended chaincase with 8 tooth drivers in 4 years. We "now" won't sell a 3" paddle track unless they have extended chaincase. Someone else can sell it to them and deal with the warranty process. Like I say it's not the tracks fault, I'm supprised Camo is still warranting them. I'll bet that comes to a halt!!

So are you saying put it on the Cat with stock drivers?

Your saying they were warranty tracks where the lug tips were ripped off from hitting coolers? Some of the earlier track's had the de-lam however thats been addressed. Are you suggesting with proper clearance you still see problems with Avids 7 tooth?

This new design 3" is unreal. Take u places u know you'd be stuck before. Put one on my boosted PC 8 with 7t avids. Lotsa room in the front. And buddy running stock on his boosted M but I don't like the min clearance but no problems.

Yes they work great in A/C & Yam. There is a issue of clearance with the Doo's.
We have sold "hundreds" of 3" tracks running STOCK drivers in A/C's

Yes there were some delam issues in the past and there were many factors came into play on different production runs. You can't group them all in one catagory calling it delamination.
With the DOO's it's a combination. Most importantly is clearance then track tension also comes into play.
” Are you suggesting with proper clearance you still see problems with Avids 7 tooth" I'm NOT suggesting I'm strongly stating in stock form on the DOO's it's an issue!!! Not trying to come off as a know- it-all but I have the numbers to back up my statements. Everyone has their own opinion and I repect that.
I don't believe it's all the tracks fault and my guess is warranties aren't going to be in the future what they have been in the past.

Which style of 3" are you talking about here with problems? There is the older style with the serrated tips and now the new style with the flat tip lugs
