3" Powerclaw on M-series?

I just purchased a Twisted M1000 (The Mini Panther Sled) and am looking at updating it to some new technology. Has anyone ran the 3" Powerclaw on an M yet? I am trying to figure if it is worth the extra $300 vs the X3 or if at this power level it dosen't really matter. My plans are to stretch the sled back out to a 162 and put the 36" front end on it, with the main purpose of big dump days.

Weight?

I've read somewhere they are lighter. Like 5 Lbs. liter that the x3. Rotating mass would lower OR power to spin a lighter track is a big difference. I for one would like to know actual weights of the 2 tracks. Plus 5 Lbs. is huge when your stuck and have to dig out, It all adds up.

Very good point. It's somewhat amazing there is not more info out on it.

We just put a 3" Powerclaw on our 1300 CPC m1000 build, but haven't had it out in DEEP snow to really test it much. Haven't run a 3" X3 before either to tell. The guys that have tried them on the pro-climbs are saying deep snow performance is pretty similar between the 3" claw and 3" X3. Lower rotating weight is a plus in my eyes though. BTW congrats on the sled! I really wanted to buy it when Amber first sold it and I saw it for sale again on craigslist this year. If I didn't already have a newer pro-lite sled I probably would have went for it!

Old Atatck 20 comparison

Remember the Attack 20 (which no one liked) it was like only 46-48 LBS. in a 162" length it was lighter than the 151" Camoplast stock track at the time on 2003.5 1M 900 King cats. Did the conversion on that sled in 2004-05 and loved the track as I started in the Hill Climb position and never ran it in the powder position which it would take a set and never work well again. The new powderclaw track has the same style as that track in the hill climb position plus has the fingers for the tip over or sidehilling. Best of both worlds I would think. So it is 5 Lbs. lighter and I've seen guy spend a grand to loose 5 Lbs. off there sled so $300 for a lighter track is worth every penny in my opinion.

For 5Lbs of rotating weight on the big girl I think it might be worth it. Does is clear with the 8T drivers I take it?

I know what a dramatic improvement going from the 2.25" Powerclaw to the 2.6" made on my 0 M8. I would sure like to hear someone's real world experience with the 3" Powerclaw on their M series sled. Surely, someone must have tried one by now?
