3" Camo Extreme on Apex

Has anyone done it with out an extended chaincase? With my drop and roll, it looks like I might be able to fit a 3" CE in my Apex, if I go back to 7 tooth drivers there would be approx 3/16" to 1/4" clearance between the track and the drive shaft. The cooler clearance is a non issue on my sled. I rode Gunner's and NM's with the 3" 174 and now I'm ruined. :face-icon-small-dis

I don't have any more clerance then what you will have with your 3" with my 2.5" and stock chain case. One thing to consider is running your track tigher then you normally do. When the track is spinning around the drivers naturally it's going to want to continue on the path that it is going, straight for the cooler. And if you have any slack on your track with those tight clerances it will hit the cooler and drag. I've had 2 sets of Avid's spin on the drive shaft before I realized that this was my problem. Tightened the track to where there is hardly any slack and never had the problem again.

nytro and apex chaincases are both 7" c to c
use an extended chain case on the apex and run 8 th drivers.
nytro has chaincase built into bulkhead.
