I am having a hard time deciding between the two, has anyone ran a 2.6 PC yet and had the chance to compare to the new style 3"?

Drive system mods (Avid case, 7-tooth etc)?

Ease of clutching?

Decisions....... Decisions .....

Note: 2012 Pro

I have no experience with a power claw, but a 3" track is where its at. I went with a 174 3", and i used 62 gram belly busters with a 120-340 yellow, primary sping. secondary spring is team black/silver i believe. You wouldnt be dissapointed. I used an Avid extended chain case with 8th drivers

Did you notice a change in handling by moving the driveshaft? In other words, did the front end feel heavier with moving the DS back with the billet case?

Hey 4Z, didn't you run a 3" before and you thought it took all the fun out of it, hooked up to hard.

I am not sure if it was moving the driveshaft back that made the front end feel light. I think it is all the extra traction. I had a 162 3" last year and i didnt like all the ski lift, so i put on tighter limiter straps, but then i thought i had too much ski pressure. 174 without the tighter limiter straps and just the stock rear suspension is what i am using now, and it is awsome

Yup. But that was on a cat and it was the old style stiff-as-a-board paddle that weighed a ton #excavator #steel. The pals I ride with that have the new 3" (and owned the old style #excavator too) report it is much more firgiving design. You can "slip" around things without the #Velcro effect. However on the pro, smaller drivers are needed, which I don't want to do unless necessary. Or, the billet ca$e.

Starting to lean towards the 2.6 PC at this point.

you probably know this, but just to be clear, you will still have to go to smaller drivers to run the 2.6 PC. and fwiw, i would (want and plan to) go with the 2.6 PC. i've ran both the 2.25 PC and a CE (old style 2.5) and prefer the PC.

Don't rule out the peak 2.5. Buddy runs one on his Pro and it works. I'm a huge fan of PC track. ran one on Doo for last 4 years and love it. Would consider Peak aswell. Hooks hard on setup and floats well on pwder. He just put carls big bore in and says it works awesome with new track.

You should probably buy the Powerclaw and then report in detail your findings... Haha. I'd really like to know if it's worth the ~$900 to upgrade from stock.

What all has to be done to run the Peak 2.5?

I think you should do what I did. Install the C3 Powersports belt drive/Avid extendedcase, then you can put the new 3" on and report back. I went with the CE 2.5" and love it. I'm thinking with a rebuilt slighlty pumped motor for this summer, a 3" might just be a perfect bolt in match for it. I need a report, Ha Ha.
