3.0 pitch track & drivers on 1m

I know some of you 1m riders are rocking 3.0 pitch tracks on your 1m's. Did you go to an 8 tooth driver or 7 tooth? Extrovert or involute? What gearing and clutching changes did you have to make? If extroverts what mods did you have to make to the rails? Pondering going to a powerclaw on the 1m but not a clutch tuner and not sure if I'm up to making this mod. Any advice would be appreciated!

We're running 8T drivers. As long as your track length is similar, no gearing/clutching changes are needed. The 8T 3" drivers are almost exactly the same diameter as the stock 10T 2.52" drivers.

We have some with extrovert drivers and some without, there's little difference. Depending on which suspension was under it, we had to trim the rails a little.

Powerclaw is one of the best mods you can do!!! That track is SICK in the deep pow. I am running extroverts on both of my 1ms. Had to trim the rail tips about 3/16 of an inch. If you need I can get you a pic of one that is trimmed. Also depending in the drivers you might have to trim some drive lugs off the track.
These, right in the middle of the window.

I had to trim mine, I have seen guys say they didnt have to trim theirs.

The 05 king cat had extroverts stock so you can simply install the 05 king tips and you will be fine. Also if you are buying parts you may as well just buy the 05 king drivers as well. I run them on all my kings with no problems and no vibrations.

Thanks guys! Anyone else have any advice? Rixster, thanks for the pic. Running a PC on my M7 and love it. That's what made me ponder putting one on the 1m.

You need to do this also !!!

09 xp rear bumper = $50
09 cat gussets = $7 each
And a little aluminum sheet metal fab work.

Rixster, it will have an older (like '04/'05 I think) Vanamburg tunnel and an older Holz coilover suspension. So the bumper part is covered. I'd like to do the running board part as well (maybe with some snow eliminators) but not sure what options I have with the Vanamberg tunnel. Thanks for the pics and the thoughts!

Thanks for posting this. I'm about to do a swap on my 04 800 to 162 A20 out of a king, 8T 3.0 drivers with extros, and stock king 162 rails.

I had been running a 9T 2.52 on my stock gearing with my 151 and it was too low, not enough track speed but could get the skis up on top of anything. Stock was a 10T.

When you say "almost same diameter" which is bigger the 8T 3" or the 10T 2.52"? Is it as simple as doing 8" x 3" = 24" and 10" x 2.52" + 25.2"?

I'm guessing the king set up I'm swapping in will be slightly geared down from my stock 10T 2.52? I want something inbetween the 9T and 10T that I had with the 2.52" and keep the stock chain case gears.

On last thing, while were on the topic, is a anti-stab kit needed?

The 8 tooth is between the other as you say and yes you will absolutely need the anti stab kit. I have been running the 3.0 pitch for two years and it is much better.

I have a factory 8tooth 06 kingcat driver setup (extroverts) only 100 miles on it. $200 shipped
