2Cool AirVents

I recently purchased a set of 2Cool side and nose vents, great customer service by the way. The question I have is on the side nose vents. It doesn't appear to be enough space on top for the rivets without damaging the cowling. I circled the suspect spot in the attached picture. I was just curious if anyone had any insight before I risked damaging the cowling. Thanks.

I would just buy a pack of "FrogSkin vents" for those areas. The 2010's have them OEM. I purchased a pack for my wifes M7 and they just peel and stick on from the outside. Look great. I think the 3 pack was less than 20 dollars and included both sides as well as the double nose vent.

Thanks AJ,
I hate not using the 2Cool vents after I purchased them, but don't want to risk damaging the cowling. I just can’t imagine that there’s enough room there for the rivet without cracking the cowling. I guess I'll be looking into the FrogSkin vents.

I'd contact 2Cool and ask them. I would worried about it as well, but I am sure they have a safe way to do it.

Are yours long like mine were? I just heated mine so the would bend alittle easyer. And bent them around that end and then rivited them on. I will try to get you some pics.

I had the same problem.
Tammy told me that you had to leave in the stock screen and use a washer on the back side .

So I returned the 2 side vents for a refund

Thanks for the info guys. I think I'll have to get a set of the adhesive nose vents. Tammy at 2cool was great in the customer service department. I'll definitely do business with them again, but I think M8 riders might want to look at other nose vents.

My vote goes to the frogskinz nose vents!

hey

I bought six little round frogskinz and drilled holes in the nose and put them over them. Its ten bones for three of them, and I carry extras in case they poke out. works great. i may out some pet screen over them, but there so cheap to just out another one there in they poke thru.

MoFlo vents fit nice in the nose of the M series. I have 2 Cools on the side panels and MoFlos in the nose. Both fit perfect.:beer;

This is Alan with 2 cool; you do not drill into the hood with that top rivet. You can leave your stock grill in and rivet through the grill so the grill holds that top corner of the vent, or you can place the rivet in the top hole and push the vent all the way back so the rivet is touching he hood. Drill and rivet the other holes and place the rivet backer on that rivet. The backer will be half on the hood and half on the rivet.
The new instructions have this on them the old ones did not.

That's just about simple enough that I can't mess it up! Thanks.
