As a native Wyomingite, I've been snowmobiling in the Western part of the state for my entire life.

Many of my fondest memories were of snowmobiling near Yellowstone as a kid, and it appears my children will not have those same opportunities for much longer.

The last thing that the common person in the western US is even more restrictions on the way we are able to recreate on public land. I have yet in my 32 years to ever observe any sort of negative environmental impact from snowmobiling. I would like to cite the 2005 DEIS for permitting snowmobiles in Yellowstone national park to back this statement up. All items brought fourth by so-called environmental groups were deemed illegitimate except for considerations about emissions and noise from snowmobiles. I will not insult anybody's intelligence by stating that these are not important issues, as they are, but with modern snowmobile technology the impacts of these issues are becoming less and less. It is absolutely positivley impossible quantify any effect on climate change snowmobile emissions have as in the grand scheme of things it is so miniscule it simply has no consequence. As far as noise goes, a management plant for testing sound levels of snowmobiles has been instituted in the state of Colorado and appears to be working. %99 of all snowmobiles don't like obnoxiously loud pipes any more than than skiiers do.

It is very discriminatory in my opinion place un necessary restrictions on folks who use public land for recreation at the behest of people who just seem to think their viewpoint is more important.

Now, regarding Alternative B as far as the new management plan goes. Any revisions to the existing plan should not restrict motorized access any more than what the status quo is. The Shoshone Nat'l forest is already %80 designated wilderness .... we don't need any more in order to satisfy the needs of a very small minority who seem to think that public land only belongs to them.

Thank you for taking my comment.

Thats what I sent them.

Thats what I sent them.
Awesome job. We have the same issues here in MN as you do so I am with you. My email will go out tomorrow. Won't do any good being from MN but I'll try. I like your comment about the noise issue. I always see people asking what can they should buy for their new sled and my answer is always STOCK!
Tread lightly.:bounce:

I sent it 2 more times from different emails. I wish I didn't use my name for most of my emails other wise I would send about 6 ;)

SENT!!!

Come on guys lets get more comments in. I sent emails to all my buddies.

Email sent. Last time I sent an anti-wilderness email I got a personal call back from my state's rep in congress. At the time it was a MN congressman, he hadn't heard much about the issue at all, so he called me to ask what it was all about. They are listening, we just need to communicate with them!

I sent another from our home email. Not sure if it will help. I'm long ways away, but if I can be of any help let me know

Already sent one, will send one from my work email. 25 to 1? Weak. Please people, read this and send a letter.

Sent mine in and had the wife send an email to all our club members(she is the secretary). Also I'm on the sdsa board and had our state secretary send an email to everyone on her list, and we put it on facebook. So I hope we get some responses.

Sent mine in...hopefully those actually living in the area will have more say on this issue rather than congressman back east who have never experienced anything like it. Awesome support guys! THANKS!
