21 year old graduates medical school

or he will burn out?

I just hope he has enough time to learn compassion and love...

and happiness..

While he has a bright future a head of him, I wonder what type of father he will be?

He may be incredibly smart, but I am guessing that the is one of the most socially awkward 21 year olds around.

The thing is though, since he doesn't have much social interaction he probably wouldn't know when something is awkward thus wouldn't feel awkward.

And the only problem I could see is that he is almost a robot. All he does is absorb information very quickly, but I am unsure if he can think outside the box or make something up himself.

When you're that smart though, do you need to think outside the box? I'd venture to say not very often. Being able to regurgitate so much innate information is probably very helpful in this way.

Poor kid never got to be a kid though. I wouldn't trade my years from 16-22 for anything, MD degree or not. And I guarantee I've seen more vaginas and will continue to do so, even though he's an MD. :face-icon-small-ton

What if he was a gynecologist?

That might be kinda creepy if you were a lady and that kid was your gyno.

Most medical schools won't touch a kid like this with a ten foot pole. Average age of admittance has climbed to 26 for a reason. I have done interviews with some of them where I currently am at school. They (in my experience) are glaringly behind in something that will affect patient care. Obviously there are exceptions to everything. But, I have (at 4yrs his senior) been kicked out by patients for 'not looking old enough.' And Ive spent so many years in the sun I have evidence of wear....:face-icon-small-coo No one wants to be a test rat for a learning student either:face-icon-small-blu

And burnout/midlife crisis is a serious concern with anyone in this position. Because, after all, what does he have left to achieve in the only world he knows?

I wish him and his patients the very very best.

Me thinks that'll be the only time he sees a snapper.

People that smart are always missing something. I knew a guy that could do calculus in his head faster than you could do basic math. But he had to have a caretaker because he couldn't live on his own. Cooking, cleaning, personal hygeine, social skills and day to day living eluded him. His kids ended up putting him in a metal facility because that everyday living part of his brain did not work right.

As far as thinking out of the box when you are a genius, yes of course you have to do it. Thinking out of the box is what got Steve Jobs and Bill Gates where they ended up or are at currently.

Lol why be proud of that? You prolly need to get yourself checked out ewwwww :face-icon-small-sho.

I hope you have better accomplishments to brag about than that!

That said I wouldn't trade my fun years for anything!

Son, I have plenty of accomplishments better than that...but I appreciate your concern. :usa2:

this kid will have colossal achievements that will impact the globe. I would like to see him get into cancer research. Go get 'em kid!! By the way that looks like one proud Dad next to the kid at graduation. What a great deal.
