2025 Summit X turbo R 165 Driver Whine Noise

Brand new sled 12 miles

2025 Summit X turbo R 165

Listen to video my wife noticed since we snowcheck a sled every year. We noticced that the 2025 has a different sound to the track. I know the drivers are new/different but maybe my track is to tight?

Not sure.

Anyone know why the 2025 has a high pitched whine You can hear it the entire hill pull.

The hyvo chain in the turbos makes noise. It’s a wining noise. Not sure if it’s your first turbo or not.

As the gen 5 has a lower NVH compared to the the gen 4 the chain noise is much more noticeable.

If this is your first turbo they have different chains and gears compared to the N.A. Sleds.

If you hear a whining noise, your chain is too tight. This happens often with HYVO chain.

My advice for tightening hyvo chain, back it up that the screw is loose. Then start tightening, and when you start to feel slightest small resistance, leave it there.

You can tighten the chain beyond this point easily, but then it easily goes too tight.

No definitely not the turbo I have had 4 2023+ turbo r none have sound like this. It's gotta be the new updated drivers.

Already did that not the issue. Thanks for the reply thought. I'm not really novice when it comes to sleds. I'm just wondering if people with actual 25s know a difference in sound from the 23-24s. Like the post says I've purchased new every year and none previous years have sounded like this.

Thanks

Also when I tighten the chain it's best to tighten hand tight all the way then back up 1 full turn

Owned a 23 turbo 165 & 24 turbo 165 now have my 25 turbo 165. No sound difference

I have the 2025 drivers on my 23 turbo. Only thing I noticed is they got smoother and quieter.
That link doesn’t work for me either.

Open the chain case, see how the chain goes as you tighten it. You can over tighten it easily if you use same procedure as with na chain.

99% of people asking about the whine on turbos, its because chain is too tight.

Sorry man I can't open your link to the video.
Mine makes a whining sound too some times. I just thought it was the new drivers. I am going to check the chain like Driver said. I think the tech at the shop might have set it up like a person used to. This sled makes a lot more noise than my 21 does. I don't know if your does this but in the really deep snow you can hear and feel the inner airbox valve open.
I only have 90 miles on mine but the snow was very deep.
