2024 YZ 450 crank case breather.

I have a 2024 yz450 that I rolled over today. I had some oil come out of the breather, made a bit of a mess but nothing more.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to remedy this? Seems a bit silly to have oil come out every time you roll the bike or it tips down a hill.

It just happens. No big deal, I actually run about 100cc extra oil in the crankcase just for that reason. It looks worse than it is, not much comes out it just brings dirty melted snow and ice with it which makes it look bad.

I re-routed the breather hose so it is not in the airbox then put a small k and n filter on it and zip tied frog skin around it. It still leaks oil after a flipover but at least it’s not dumping the oil into my intake. Not sure why Yamaha put it there.

Any issues with that filter freezing? I got some feedback else where that suggested the same thing. I ran a 22 breather hose out past my strut.

Not that I’ve seen. I was more trying to keep snow/water from entering my hose and then freeze. I have also just ziptied a piece of frogskin directly around the end of my hose in the past and that was fine too.

Sweet, I will just do that then. This is my first Yamaha and I’ve never seen this on the KTMs. Silly design but hopefully this prevents a mess.
