2021 changes

I’ve got a 2021 hardcore 154x2.6 coming in the fall. What are some of the changes from the 2020. I’m coming from a riot x. Entering the alpha platform I’m hoping this 2.6 tracks holds up. I’ve read some stuff below that has me wondering but hey how bad can it be.

- Carbon TCL
- Thru bolt instead of 2 bolts attaching the rear arm to the rail
- the 2.6 PC like you mentioned

There are some other things but I've forgotten. Others will chime in.

I’m doing close to the same, stepping off the Riot X and jumping on a 2021165 mtn cat. Pretty excited to see what the Alpha is all about. Gonna hang on to the Riot if I don’t like the Alpha I’ll look at putting a 153 on it. A mtn. sled with a rear cooler!

A bit off topic but you mentioned the rear cooler, I will say I was impressed with the cooling of my alpha for only having a front cooler. It was worrysome to me for spring snow/riding but all in all It did alright, better than my spare pro rmk which has those tunnel length coolers and they over heat still lol...

I thought I heard something about the rail being updated but i haven't seen details or anything to confirm that.

The rear bump stop is now glued on instead of screwed down. The lack of screw holes should help keep cracks from forming there. That's the only rail update I've heard of so far.

I worry about engine cooling, probably an unhealthy amount LOL. I was impressed with how the little tunnel cooler on the Riot kept that sucker cool all the time. My 18 Mtn Cat was a bear to keep cool on the trail. Used the factory scratchers and a set of cable scratchers, that helped a lot this year.

Yeah I’m worried about cooling too. Can you show some pictures of your double scratcher set up ? I’ve got about 30 miles of trails to get to good off trail. My x never overheated.

I actually don’t own the sled anymore, sold it to a guy I ride with. I just left the factory scratchers as is and put the cables forward in some existing holes in the skid. It works pretty good.
