Yes I know another stinking track thread!!!!!

Seems a majority picked the 155 2.6 for the previous 800, me included.

I'm thinking the 163 2.6 may be a better choice given the narrower front end and additional power.

The 3" looks intriguing and you have the pros/cons of chain case.

Would like to hear from those that have rode the 850, real experience would be a bonus.

I'm scratching my head on this one too.

I've been told that the 2.6 didn't change and that it has (and is lighter again). Maybe someone can elaborate. But something interesting is that the 3" doesn't cost anymore or less than the 2.6 during snowcheck. TKI makes an awesome belt drive if you are willing to spend another $799. I just can't help but think that 3" with the 8 fiddy would really spin well!

I ran the 3" chain on my 16 build, Have a 2.6 belt on my 18 build. I ended up clipping every window on this 2.6 and the track still looks great this season.

I am going back to the 3" as I prefer the extra lug for my riding style. The 2.6 has been awesome and is better as a all around track for sure. Does great on marginal days and still gets you anywhere on the deep days. The 3 does not like the hard pack as much but really keeps you going a bit more on the deep days. Now for me I live for the deep days and like to push all the snow I can. The extra lug does make it slightly hard to lay over just because it wants to go forward more. But that is no different as a 155 vs 163.

I have had zero issues with the belt drive nor the chain, zero. Even boosted

We sold 3:1 163x3" sleds than all other track combos combined (for snowcheck sleds where you had a choice)....but that's in big mountain and big snow country. I feel that will hold true again this year. Personally I think the 163x2.6 is probably the best all-around mountain machine...I like the belt drive and the sled feels snappier and lighter on its feet. That said, I will probably end up ordering the 163x3" as they're always harder to find and therefor easier to sell (here) when it comes time to upgrade.
