2018 Timbersled Disappointments

After waiting a couple months for the release of the new Timbersled I'm quite disappointed in what I was waiting for. I Heard from multiple Dealers that the new 2018 will be worth waiting for because it will "knock your socks off....." quote from The Racin Station (dealer out of Idaho). But yet the only thing that was a major change in 2018 for the new Timbersled was a new spindle, slightly re designed ski, new mounting system from track kit to bike (they designed it similar to YETIS) and finally the kit lost 10 pounds... Also the new Timbersled looks like they are brother and sister with the CMX they look the same! Quite disappointed... Strongly considering buying a YETI

Well then..... buy the Yeti they are great! You will like it. Or buy the Timbersled and keep $2500 - $3000 in your pocket! I think you will like the new Timbersled also. As far as what they changed, almost everything is new. I have a 17 TS 120 and the 18 TS ARO is quite different and looks very good! Brother to the CMX... not much in common other than a track and ski (Twin ski on your CMX picture). We have so many good choices and yes CMX is also a great choice! Keep an open mind until we have some reviews or you get a chance to ride one. What do you have now?

I'm holding out for a Polaris or doo factory snowbike. If I have to hold out for 5 years I will. My old TS and doo will work for now.

They will come. One day.

Yep

I'll bite........

If it's like the YETI and CMX,,,,,,,, well,,,,,,,,,,,,,, then IT WILL BE GREAT!!
Those are some damn fine kits!!!

It would be cool if we could morph them all into one, wouldn't that be a killer kit....,,,,,,, nonetheless there will still be unhappy citizens......

I'd like to have one of each....

Anyone have any news about the sock blasting we are gonna receive from the other kits???

wow! really? new ski,new spindle not -10 lbs -20 new track, new chain sliders, and adjuster. suspension change, track approach angle and on...I was impressed and not much price increase:bowl:

I was really hoping for lower prices across the board rather than just the Raw. They have made the raw competitive with the Camso as far as pricing goes.
Id like to see a better warranty on the kit. Especially when they have made some weight savings. I hope the lightened components will hold up to abuse as good as previous stuff.
I'm not a fan of narrow track windows personally. Most the SX kits tear them out and these don't look much better. Time will tell.....

Boohoo

About the only thing that looks like the CMX kit is the shape of the holes in the side panels...

Who cares what kit does what or what kit looks like whatever kit, just get out and ride! Hats off to Polaris for jumping in head first and dumping some serious coin into R&D and advancing the sport.

Its not -20lbs. Its -11. Says it in their own literature.

Yeah what a bunch of copy cat a$$holes.

Reinvent the wheel for others to emulate and now they suck for continuous commitment to advancing the product just like the other guys did to their platform. And F$&k Polaris too for spending tons of money on R and D.

The nay Sayers on this forum get old sometimes.

Snowbiking is the most fu$&ing fun thing ever. STFU and ride what you have and be happy all these companies are making them even better.

I believe the complaint isn't so much the advancing of the product as it is the R&D budget was comprised of buying a Yeti, CMX, snowtechmx and mototrax. If polaris had spent tons of money or R&D we'd have seem some innovation not just bringing an outdated kit up to par.

Sure..... Taking advantage of the same convenience of just taking a Timbersled and refining it like everyone else did. They did throw in some unique stuff as well.

My only complaint is who cares. They are all making each other better and snow biking is f&@cing awesome.

I really like my 16 with TSS and when I'm ready to replace in a few years in going to have a lot of good choices.

Just a hater.

Lets see what's new??
Everything.

I'm pissed! lol

Or disappointment that one of the two firms in the industry large enough to change the game went for the BNG option.

No sense in pushing the envelope when they can collect profits from small incremental refinements. IMO Camso's single rail and arguably mototrax's rising rate suspension are the only interesting things in the last 3 years. The rest of it is primarily moving sled technology over to a snowbike and TBH I don't want or need a snow atv.

Yeah mototrax sounds f$@ing awesome!

Camso did do a nice job.

Yup, spot on!

Poo has brought Jacksquat to the table thus far, and from the grumbling this season they even made the service end worse than before.
