2018 Axys 800 head question

Hi there, hoping someone can help me figure this out.

I just bought a new 2018 pro rmk axys 800.

I was looking at the head and the top cover is black. A friend has an identical 18 and his head cover is bare aluminum.

Could anyone help me understand why there is a difference?

And not only this on the 2019 800 we have here the thermostat housing has 3 bolts instead of the "normal" 2 bolt cover,

I believe the 18s went to a 3 bolt t-stat cover.

I did some research last night and both sled have the 3 bolt tstat housing and the 2018 part number on the housing. Only difference appears to be the color.
