Haha !! what the Hell .. At least I won't want one now .

Looks awesome and love the new boards .. But WITFF!! Them bars Absolutely Suck !!!!!

Just looked again. It's all trail sled up front but with a fixed spindle . Well guess I still have to build what we all want .. A narrow 146 with 1.365, 2.0 and 2.5 options .. Why wouldn't they just give us a SKS 146 ??? I see limited reasons to buy a SKS ..

Personally I think the ASSAULT RMK with 2.25 looks closer to what we all asked for !!

Has front cooler , narrow body , adjustable front ( goes wider than any prior model ) Three Bar height choices , two windsheild choices ,

I know. They missed boat on the details of this sled. I'm debating on a 600 rmk and turning it into a 660, but then that is still not what I wanted

Supposed to be a 144/146 rmk with a front cooler, coil over rear skid, narrow front end and decent shocks. 2.25" to 2.6" track option

This assault looks like a long tracked trail sled, geared more toward the guy that " plays off trail" once a year when the snow gets heavy, opposed to the off trail deeper snow sled that we could ride on the trails when we had to

Maybe I'm just dreaming. By it sure seemed like a lot of people from the mid western area sure wantes that I guess maybe they really don't read the forums after all

Should have finished my engineering degree I guess and got my test pilot job at polaris so I could have an actual say

I agree and disagree... LOL! I was hoping for my track choices (1.75" back country), adjustable ski stance and at very least Gripper skis. I'll reserve judgement on the bars until I have a set in my hand. The seat I'm not sure about however... New boards are a big step forward and what the SBA should have had all along.

I ride a lot of trail to get to the "play"spots and this year has been almost exclusively trail due to the weather, so the front isn't a huge issue. I'm curious on the rear suspension changes and what they will do to off trail performance.

Its time for an upgrade so I'm buying, I just don't know if it will be snow check or in season? I want black and a mid height windshield which is basically the in season sled. $200 bucks at Arctic FX and I have a black tunnel...

I hear what you are saying. If those are the same bars as the pro x I'll pass. I like the pro tapers better. The only thing I like there is being able to control things without looking down at my crotch

The lack of grippers on the 2" track choice is weird. It says it's a redesigned ski. Maybe it's a hybrid between the gripper and the trail ski. At least I have a brand new set of grippers in the stable from this years accessory promotion. Too bad they are red and I am going black this year.

I agree on the running boards. That was one of my biggest complaints on my 11. Still hate those boards when I ride that sled compared to my bro. I am still wondering where all the weight comes from on this sled. If a pro s can get down to 437 now why does this one still weigh like a tank at 458. I get that this sled is "reinforced" but rails don't weigh that much

What I missing. It's a lighter motor (I think) yet the overall weight of this sled stayed the same as 11-15 model years. I thought this one would drop into the 430 to 440 range

I still don't get why everyone here thought the AXYS SBA was going to be the off-trail sled they were looking for.

The SBA has always been a true 50/50 sled. Longer track with the trail sled front end. It has never been or never will be a 144 RMK/SKS. Polaris did a great job of upgrading the SBA to what they have now. The new version is worlds better the the last version and brings the SBA up to the new AXYS standards. The current SBA is one of the best selling sleds Polaris has in the line-up and if you think they were going to change that to a tall narrow sled you were crazy.

Instead of bitching about that sled keep telling Polaris that they need to offer a 144/146 RMK/RMK Assault/SKS because that is what people here want.

Agreed! Perfect sled for what I am doing, which isn't exactly what most on SnoWest would be doing... Adjustable ski stance would be nice but not a deal breaker. I think its gonna be a great sled for it's intended market.

Looking at the specs more I think the only thing disappointing on the SBA is not coming with the 1.6" Cobra in place of the 1.375" Cobra. I think the 1.6" Cobra is a better all around track for that sled but that is a minor complaint I guess.

Go see my posts about what I wanted for an offering

I'm not a fan of the cobra track In any form. I would love to see the backcountry offered instead. Still a trail friendly track but to me more capable in any kind of snow.
And I would be willing to pay money for that option instead of the free 2.0 series 4.0

And I inderstand what you are saying about us complaining about this offering. I guess that just shows how disappointed a lot of us are with them still not offering a 140 something version of what the pro rmk series brings

Your not a fan of the 1.6" Cobra? I thought it performed better in every condition vs the Backcountry (hard and soft trails, deeper snow). I was never a big fan of the 1.375 version but love the 1.6". I'm not saying the 2" 4.0 is a bad track but it just seems dated now and there are better options out there. IMO

From all of my reading today on here a few other places the lack of 144/146 in the RMK series is the major complaint I have seen so your not alone.

AGREE 100% The SBA 144" is exactly what it has always been only improved with the new Axys Chassis and new HO motor.

Makes sense that a SBA stay what it has always been. Not that you mountain guys aren't on to something with a 146" with mountain sled characteristics. This would be a great sled as well but should likely fall under a different name.

MAYBE NEXT YEAR?

I find that the cobra is just not durable. We have had very poor results with lugs breaking off, the track cutting (particularly on the edges due to ice) and so on. And that is both on polaris and xf cats and so on with a variety of riders and riding styles

I just find it to be a cheap light track. Not a place I am willing to sacrifice quality on. traction is ok. But they are usually done after 2-3000 miles around here, where other tracks are still fine

I have a black pair of grippers I'll trade ya for the red ones if interested

4500 and mine is still in great shape, I found one torn lug this year. I was really hoping for a 1.6" Ice Cobra as an offering.
