2016 TS SX kit?

I'm interested in a new TS setup for my 2014 KX450F. I was set on a 120" SX kit, but I was told that they're not selling many of the SX kits and to go with a regular ST kit. I heard they were phasing out the SX kits in the near future.

I see a lot of thoughts on the 15 kits, but obviously not much about the 16 setups. I'm just wondering if the SX kit is worth the extra bucks and if the skinnier track is worth it.

I ride MX in the summer and I am pretty aggressive. I enjoy riding hard. (Hence the new rod in my leg from the dirtbike about 3 months ago :face-icon-small-coo).

I plan on talking to some shops and people at Haydays, but just curious if there are any thoughts on the 2016 ST compared to the 2016 SX.

We are not going to faze out the SX kit. They are very popular for what they are and do the job of being more athletic very well. We do however build limited amounts of them. Due to that they sell out fast.

Well the old model of the SX was phased out, and they made one of it's best features available to all models.

I still went with an SX, the handling just seems more fitting for what I want to do with a bike on the snow. Watch some videos of guys side hilling, I really like how the SX performs there.

You lose some flotation and traction with the sx120. And that does have me a little worried, but I'm fairly confident I'll be having a blast.

Hm, I agree. If I were talking 2015 kits, I would no doubt go SX. But it seems the 2016 ST is very similar to the 2015 SX setup. This is one tough choice for me.

Aside from pure jumping ability and agility of the SX a 2016 ST with TSS is going to be a hard package to beat. the 15 and older SX's were impressively plush riding for their year offerings. All of our staff is phasing into the 16 ST's with TSS as the SX was a blast, but in the deep days it just gave up too much traction. This new setup should allow impressive deep snow abilities coupled with super plush suspension for bigger hits.

what really is the difference between the SX and the ST. obviously the track is narrower on the SX, The SX also has better more adjustable suspension. other than this what are the differences?? is the geometry of the suspension different? why do the SX's get a different chain case cover? I have never seen one in person so I have many questions

The narrower track of the sx allows it to get up and in closer to the bike. So there are some slight geometry differences. I seriously considered the st. But I didn't want to have to deal with respringing it either. And I would get the air shocks with the sx. I was also hoping the 2.5" paddle could somewhat make up for the narrower track compared to older models at least.

There has been the ST vs SX debate threads before. I have ridden both and prefer the sx hands down (but I have not ridden the new ST with TSS). The sx handling and previous suspension was superior to the ST (2015 and older). We have a 15 sx and 15 ST on Kawi 450's and in 3ft powder, they both get up on the snow and go the same places so the 10.5 track didn't lose anything to the wider ST track last winter. The best scenario would be for you to ride both and determine which one you prefer. They both will put a smile on your face! Good luck.
