2016 Husqvarna 501 FE Headgasket oil leak

We purchased a 2016 501 FE about 3 months ago, put about 130 miles on it and then parked it in the garage till the Camso Kit came. Fast Forward to last week, we had the kit installed and put it on a trailer on Friday. sat on the trailer till today. Went to go try it out with all the new snow. Started the bike and within 15 seconds noticed oil running down the left side of the engine. After a closer inspection we realized its coming from the head gasket.

Bike is basically new, 130 miles on it. Totally stock. Has had 2 oil changes and sat out in 10 degree weather over the weekend. Has anyone seen anything like this happen? Totally confused here. I'm going to call the dealer but I believe the warranty was only 30 days.

Did you try to retorque to see if the head bolts are out of spec.... it's happened on my 2 strokes after big temp changes... after a top end.

What oil are you running? Perhaps the thicker (stock) oil in the cold weather is adding to the pressure on the gasket? We run 0-40 in the cold temps.

Sounds more like a valve cover gasket than a head gasket. You can easily make the valve cover gasket leak if the breather gets frozen up.

I'd go buy a chunk of hose and run it from the valve cover down to below the motor and not use the stock hose with the aluminum tee in it.

On my KTM I ran the hose back to where the paddles on the track would just barely hit it. That way it never had a chance to get iced up.

Make sure your vent lines aren't plugged. That will cause increased crankcase pressure.
