2016 chain issues

so what chain is everyone replacing theirs with and does the chain in the case have the same issues as the drive chain?? thinking may change both now as in for service any ways

Change them both if you can.

We use the DID 520ERT or the RK520MXU chains. They are bullet proof.

Another solid option that we sell is the RK 520 MAXX chain that you can get in a 150 pin length and then you can cut it and have enough for both chains for about $100.00.

I also would suggest replacing both chains. Both my jt chains on my 16 kit failed (stretched quickly) damaging the chain case and costing two days of riding while on a five day trip. TS replaced the chains with what I recall was an EK chain.

Are these non o ring chains? I see the ERT 2 is listed that way, dont see a standard ERT, thought guys where going non o ring route. Had to adjust our three bikes every day of riding, with the factory '16 chains.

O ring only, would be my recommendation. Because of the elements that these chains are subject to, I would not run a standard roller chain.
