2015 Timbersled Mountain Horse Revealed

Can TS comment on the chain tensioner ? One bolt ? The current design doesnt stay tight with 3 bolts. Also why these cheesy plastic gears ? Curious

The gears are steel but with a plastic cover. That's what I got out of the video.

Been on the edge of my seat for this release. Went to the website and learned nothing new on the 2015 sx kit and that the changes will be shown a month after the snow check ends. Apparently I'm supposed to trust timberland with my funds in the hope that the sx kit will deliver. What a joke!

The details will be out on the 10th. Yes, the tensioner is a slide design with one bolt.

Great improvements! I'll be riding my 2014 ST for a few years before I can justify a new kit but so happy to see these kits continually improving. The improved geometry to lighten the front ski, lower the seat height, and improve the approach angle is sweet, but I think I'll just go ahead get the double bearing housings and outside ski skags and call it good for a few years.

I sure hope that is true? Can you really retrofit the double bearing housing to previous year Mountain Horses?

Looks like lots of improvements, can't wait to build my first snow bike next year likely a ktm450sxf mountain horse LT. I have a feeling my rmk turbo is going to collect dust, these look like they are a hoot.

I wish the husaberg 570 was still in production I think it would make a great core for a snowbike.

from the website

The 2015 kit includes 4 bolt bearing housings with double row bearings that are twice as wide as before. This keeps the axles more structurally aligned to the kit, making the whole system 100% stronger which in turn provides much longer bearing life.
Note: Timbersled will be selling an update kit for all previous year Mountain Horse kits

I'm sure this question is in reference to the chain case tensioner not the main drive chain.

What holds the tensioner gear in place besides that one bolt??

I believe one bolt will be better. The current design isn't three bolts holding one point, it's three bolts holding three points and any one of them can let the chain loosen. So three points of failure instead of one. Sometimes less is more.

Sorry don't buy it. My 3 bolts were super tight. They ate into the metal to hold them. Still came loose. Problem with the bearing failure issue as well. Can't handle power maybe ?.

Is that techno or dub-step? Seriously though//? I thought that I had heard about some serious weight reduction? And new track? Is there now a clearance issue that keeps us from using 2.3 or 2.5 inch tracks? Also I think a lot of us are excited to see new sx that is rumored to beat current st in the pow, and be more mtn specific?
