Part 7—Seat Install

During the past couple of weeks we have installed two of the most requested modifications to the 2015 Arctic Cat M 8000 SnoPro project—the Mountain Valley Machine belt drive and the three-inch Power Claw track. Now it’s time to deal with a subtle modification designed to increase storage capacity of the snowmobile—adding the ProClimb seat.
We chose to go with this seat because of its extended storage space. The seat kit actually uses the same foam padding and attaches in the same location. It doesn’t change the rider position or saddle feel. It just gives you a place to pack more stuff in a sleek, natural design.
Here’s how the change is made.
Seat Removal
1) Remove two screws on the seat bat wings, one from each side of the belly pan that attaches above the foot rest.
2) Remove two screws that hold the seat to the tunnel (one on each side).
3) Pull seat straight back and remove.
4) Remove the plastic bat wings from the stock seat.
5) Remove belt and tool pouch.
1) Build mountain seat using the kit (that has everything necessary). a. Tuck foam inside the cover. Although the cover will initially look wrinkled, the seat/foam will eventually stretch the fabric by the time you install the seat.

b. Shove plastic shapes into rear compartment slots that will shape the storage area.
