In the event that anyone doesn't know yet, Idaho has moved snowmobile registration to the DMV. I just got back from there and had a little issue with one of my sleds. It has a California title, but has been registered in Idaho with no problems since 2007. I come home to ride about twice a year while I'm on leave. This year with the transition to the DMV I can't transfer my title to Idaho without my California title and a VIN verification. I also couldn't get a non-resident sticker because I don't have a California registration with me. Long story short...make sure you have your ducks in a row when you head down to get your stickers!

You can still get the stickers at vendors. Forget the DMV. All they want is the tax on title transfers anyway.
I have a bike that they wanted me to go back and have five different guys transfer it into their name pay the tax and then after all of the transfers they would work on a title and plate for it.
How about you help me straighten out the title and let me register it rather than the alternative.

But you are correct. IF you go to the DMV you do have to have all of the CORRECT paperwork for them to help you.

you can just get them at the vendors like ya always have~ the recended the action to require you do it at the DMV~

Thanks for the update. I tried to get stickers from my dealer here in Sandpoint and they sent me to DMV. I'll let them know it was changed. Maybe I won't be an outlaw after all.

over here all the dealers and all of the gas stations that had them last year have them again this year~ if your dealer doesn't have them tell him to get with the program and get up to date!!! ;)

Priest Lake area

Up at Priest Lake you can get them at both sides of the lake at the gas station or stores just say your out of state. The rangers only look for the sticker.
