2014 pro oil use

With everyone claiming the Pro's are too lean from the factory. This is a hold over brand new sled. I checked my oil use after my second ride and I used 28oz oil for 7.5 gal fuel. I believe that puts me around 34:1. That actually seems just about right unless i am missing something?? Granted I need to check it a few more times for a good average.

That's fine, you need many rides though to get a true idea. Different snow conditions and throttle positions will change the usage also.

Stock oil consumption seems to be a little random on the Pro. my 2013 was at about 65:1 before I adjusted it. Its good idea to check it.

First 200 miles on my 15 rmk 800 le were a 50/50 mix of trail and offtrail riding with pump up 2 3/8 turns and stock cap. I calculated 80:1 I burned 1 1/3 qt in that time period. I have pump sitting at 3 3/4 turns and added a skidoo oil cap. Next 200 miles were all offtrail mountain miles and I burned approximately 3 qts. When I opened the stock cap I heard a whoosh come out.

On my 60 mile ride last weekend I used 36 oz of oil, and 11gallons of gas. Stock oil cap and pump settings, 14 assault. 30:1 ratio has been pretty typical for me. Never seen less than 40:1

I guess I will check mine... I turned up my '13, it ran 30:1, no problems and sold it with 1300 miles on it. I have two rides on the '14 ~50-60 miles all with pre-mix in the tank.

You definetly want to make sure the cap is working. Some have been bad, the whoosh is a really bad sign, it should never do that.

Good to hear they are fattened up from the factory finally and, strangely... they rarely blow up now either. Who woulda figured the engine needed oil to live?
