Calling for cold and wet Sierra winter ,One report said this may be the winter not seen since 1970,.sharpen your shovels!

Everything I've been seeing is calling for "cool" and "average/normal" precip... but take into account the last few years have been FAR BELOW "normal"!

forcast

This sums it up pretty well and is a pretty good read.

Here it is right from the Farmers Almanac' Quote[Annual Weather Summary: November 2013 to October 2014
Winter will be much rainier and cooler than normal, with mountain snowfall much greater than normal. Most of the rain, snow, and storminess will come in January and February, when storm damage will be a concern. The coldest periods will be in mid-December and mid- to late January.

Old Farmers Almanac , Cold and above mountain snowfall. Dec through feb are the snowiest times.I saw a squirrel scratching his nuts and you know what that means!

Was it a red tailed city squirrel or a grey tail mountain squirrel?

Great call on a grey BUT if it was a city red tail then it could have been a gang sign or simply complications from a STD.

Were the nuts loaded or empty?

Out with it man the suspense is killing me ! :flypig::deadhorse::smow::smow::smow::hurt::cool:

This probably has nothing to do with it, but there is 60% more arctic sea ice this year than last. I'm taking it as a sign, this year is going to be EPIC.

yeah, the artic sea ice thing tripped me out big time also,
it seems like all signs point to a great winter, every sort of forecast I have seen it leaning towards it, after 2 bad years I guess the 3rd time is the charm.

its like roulette, it has to swing back and eventually balance out :face-icon-small-coo
lets face it, even a normal year is good stuff

Heh.

That arctic sea ice report.

Yeah that 60% increase is because last year was the lowest recorded area of the same ice sheets in history. Not hard to go up when you hit a record low.

We could have a crappy winter and it would still be 200% more snow than last year. :D

Digging the cooler temps the last few days.
