Get a jackshaft from new PC/Viper, Yamaha Secondary clutch, Bore the Yamaha Primary to 35mm taper, check overall diameters and C to C to see if Yamaha belt will fit and get 3000 miles to a belt. Compared to 200$ a belt and if you go through 5 or more belts in a season this would be a cheap fix. Love new model releases, gets all the pretengineers brains working like hamster wheels.

Or just take that lemon AC back to the dealer and get your money back. 2 years and still eating belts every 100 miles? What a f-in joke.

The interesting thing is that some have belt issues with the cat clutch and some do not. Either way the yamaha secondary is button and the fact that it is not able to react as fast as a roller clutch is probably where it shines.

Engine mounts

I see in the pics of the Yamaha that they are not using the TTCF and motor is through bolted crossways in chassis like they have always done. Cat needs to steal this idea.

By the looks of it cat may have just decided stealing the entire engine was a better idea?

I do agree mounts like the nytro motor would work great on the 11t as well. They allow for alot less twist at each mount location.

well i hope that is part of the deal that they made. cat knows they have a clutch issue because they sell a ton of them.

So just thinking. . . . So if cat and yamaha have been in bed for a little while already any chance the splines from the yamaha clutch and the cat clutch are the same? Could it be just as easy as putting the yamaha secondary on the cat?

I tried that idea all ready. The splines are different as of right now

If that Yammy does make it to a full run in the new Chassis... how much heaver is this sled gonna get?
Yamaha- never did do much impressing us mountain riders-- just a point and shooter--- but a SMOOOOOOOOOOTH one at that with a fit and finish of a LAMBO.:camera:

I doubt it will get heavier. Our complete 1100T motor with full exhaust and intake and intercooler weighed 187lbs. I havent found a 100% reliable weight on the nytro motor, but from what ive found so far its quite a bit lighter.

This may be easier than you think, wait and see monday. Dont know until then if the arctic cat with nytro motor with come with cat clutches or yammi clutches. I just pray its yammi clutches.

The nytro engine is 35 pounds LIGHTER than the 1100 engine. And they love boost! And they sound awesome! Pretty positive changes in my opinion!

IMO i do not think just putting yamaha jack shaft and clutches is the 100% fix on these sleds. people on HCS are still having belt issues running beefed up shafts, and both primary, secondary STM clutches. Take a look at one stop performance's pictures of the new viper. The TCL is gone and the engine is mounted to bars from the sides. I think until you get the engine from walking all over the place, they will continue to eat drive line parts. I also think due to manufacture tolerances and cheap parts, some sleds have more movement than others. This could be the reason some sleds eat drive line parts like water and others do not. If there was one smoking gun on this chassis, someone would have figured it out last year.

We also thought that the TCL was going to be a huge improvement- I hope that maybe someone is testing this- as it is aparent the one ( or some) sleds are just not liking the TCL.
Mine however is one that doesnt eat belts- loves to pull and is easy on gears and chains...... still have to wait a year for the magic nytro motor to makes is squeeze in the Pro chassis..... hope it is well thought out and TESTED!!!!
