2014 Assault wieght

2014 assault full of gas and oil. Sled has heavy C&A xt skis, dual rate springs all the way around, under seat bag, dash bag and goggle bag under the panel. It was weighed with all my tools, tow straps, water bottle, extra emergency gear, folding saw, camera gear, spair goggles and gloves. Exactly how I would leave the parking lot for a day of riding. Roughly 5 pounds of straps.

Nothing wrong with that...ready to roll that's pretty light. What's the est dry weight on the Assault?

I am 155lbs with all my gear on so under 700lbs on the sled ready to go. If the polaris 800 makes 150 Hp then the power to weight ratio with me on the sled is 4.6 lbs/hp. There was a turbo nytro there that came in at 615lbs with 1 gallon of fuel. Add fuel, tools and me on it is roughly 825 lbs. If it makes 225hp then it's 3.6 lbs/hp rolling down the trail. A slightly modified assault would be in that power to weight ratio pretty easy. A turbo viper with say a 200hp turbo kit should make a viper feel lighter than a pro.

It's under the exhaust side panel. It's the factory offered accesory. After Christmas they are putting a XM and proclimb on the scale ready to ride. In my opinion ready to ride weight is the only one that matters. The location of the fuel tank and capacity are all factors in the way the sled feels in the snow along with tool storage and other storage compartments.

Hey, I had one of those goggle bags. Got so hot in there that it warped my lenses. Now I just keep spare gloves in there.
