2013Pro 800 against 2012 etec drag race this past Saturday

Put on 70 miles on Saturday first Polaris ived owned ,went out with a group of 10 guys 5 skidoos 3renegades 1 2010 summit 1 2012 etec ,1 Yamaha and 2 cats after 30 miles I couldn't take it anymore I had to see how bad I would get beat :we lined up all the doos against the poo and to my surprise I should my taillights to them we raced about 1/3 of a mile 6 races and the 163 pro won every race. And that was in the eth setting and factory weights,I stayed in front of the etec by about a length and half he couldn't believe it he said last year when he raced the 12 pros he was always in front,we were all very impressed. So far no broken parts and a lot of fun to ride.

the old man had same result yesterday, he is taking my 144" 2.0 swba and bro just got a 146 etec freeride.
bro wanted to race the poo and show it who was boss but that didnt happen, the etec lost by about 1-1.5 lengths both times.
dad out weighs bro by 50lbs at least, both sled bone stock - brother sure took a ribbing about it HAHA
just hope my 155" keeps pace
 
Come on... be honest now. You may have won the drag races, but you MUST have thrown half the cogs off your dive belt and broke your drive shaft by the end of the day. Right? :face-icon-small-win

Yep it's so many hours or miles what ever comes first , the timing is retarded till than ( grasping at straws ). A good belt drive makes that much of a differance . How about running a pro belt against last years or an assault ? Raced against a last year model Doo ???
 
drag race doesnt mean much. I remeber running my 827 against a speedworx 1000 in a drag race and hanging right there. Then we hit a hill and that speedworx was GONE!!! I coulndnt keep up.

All joking aside about the belt drive, have you torn it down to look for a cracked cylinder or collapsed pistons?

That was my experience last year with my '12 Pro against my '11 E-Tec. The E-Tec would hang with the Pro in a drag, but the Pro easily outperformed the Doo on the hill. Not bad for an underpowered sled.
 
OMG the same internet that keeps telling me the ETEC is sooo much quicker has now told me it's about the same!!!

The etec with the chip was in Kovs post, 146 freeride. My 6 etec has an 8 hour timer, must be above engagement to count, slides power in steps, not all at once after 8hr. FWIW. Wasn't noticeable on the 6, track breakin is probably more significant. Have an 11 pro, also.

The 2012 summit had 470 km on it,he still can't get over it lol


Too all those not fluent in Canuck, 470 km = about 294 miles. Not sure if that is past the "break in" period. I have owned 3 doo's and never noticed much difference.

I will give a props to the 13 pro if and when Stockers pro can keep up with my old beat up 09 xp......
