2013 wr450 front ski

I need a little verification on my install from the experienced guys. I have my doubts as to if my front axle is where it should be. On the side where the speedo used to be I have probably 3/4 of an inch of axle between the bottom of the shock and the spindle. Is there supposed to be a spacer there that I am missing. I don't have anything else in the kit, but it could have been left out. The end of the axle sits about a third of an inch inside the housing. Here's a pic, sorry the camera focused on the spindle not the axle, but you get the idea.

I snow bike with a moded 2009 wr450f , with the speedo gone the axles shoulder will just move in closer to the spindle bushing , Ok now heres something to watch for ,sometime theres a small gap between the left fork tube and the spindle bushing as you tighten the axle watch the left fork tube it might twist inward a little and this causes the alignment of the forks to be not exactly parallel ,so with the axle loose take a feeler gauge and put in the gap ,get the measurement and find a shim washer that thickness ,with a inside hole diameter slightly bigger than the axle ,than install the shim in the gap ,tighten axle and there shouldn't be any movement .

I just put together a 2006 wr450 and am seeing the same issue. My take on it is the TS spindle and spacers should be the same width as your wheel and spacers. This appears to be correct on my bike - but the fork clamp seems too wide and is pushing the fork out so that the axle is no longer flush to the edge of the axle clamp. I had to spread the forks to get the right fork(throttle side) clamp in.

What concerns me is the forks are not parallel now - they are wider at the bottom than the triple clamps. I am think of having the right side fork clamp machined down the 0.2in to get the axle flush with the axle clamp - so everything fits the same as with the wheel. Don't know how much miss-alignment the fork bushing/seals can take.

My '07 looks like this too. Snug up the axle nut 1st leaving all other components finger tight then stroke the forks up & down several times to get everything aligned then tighten the axle clamp bolts to spec followed by fork tube clamps. Everything lined up good for me using this method.
