2013 Pro vid

Im sure the new XM couldn't keep up with you though! Cause all it wants to do is take you into the trees. Oh wait the best mountain sled ever hits trees too!!!! :) Not a big deal but i think it's kind of funny that you had the Pro in the tree's for like 25% of the video and you hit a tree with it too.

you must be blind, because one I didn't hit the tree I stopped right before I hit it and notice how the sled kept it's edge... good luck on the XM. second the sled stayed on edge while I brought it down a little to clear the tree again good luck with the XM on that too :face-icon-small-dis

So on a 500lb sled with about 200lbs of rider(total 700 lbs ready to ride with rider for the math deficient) you can REALLY feel 14lbs of weight savings? REALLY? That is 2%. Or 2 gallons of fuel...

I had to switch back and forth, between my 12 & the 13, about 6 times to tell that there is an ever so slight difference. The first time i thought they were identical and my 12 out ran it. Already an awesome sled so anything over the 12 is gravy.

Yea I am starting to think that guys who are upgrading from a 12 might be wasting money. Put some better boards on the 12 and the new seat and your there. Most people say they can't tell any difference with the belt drive. I ordered a 13 but I sold my m series, maybe I should have just bought a 12 for 2500 cheaper and done a few mods.

is that a 600 cc?.sounds kinda wimpy:)

here you go again. i own an 800 etec as well and the only place i notice that it has more power is on the trail. you doo guys make me laugh every time you talk about the lack of power, power is the only thing the summit has over the pro. the xp blows, the rev was a much better sled.

is that a retro in the video? how did you like the look of it?

I have been riding a 2012 XP 163 and a 2012 Pro 163 a lot lately. Same day, same conditions. Both sleds are not clutched perfectly. I am about 100-150rpm off on the XP and about 200-250 off on the Pro(stone stock clutching) at 5-6000 feet where we have been riding. The ETEC "feels" way more powerful. Runs cleaner and snappier. But the sleds run within 5-10 feet of each other on every hill I test them on. The ETEC is probably more powerful but it is heavier and I don't think it gets the power to the snow as well. I also think the Doo track is a much better all around track than the Poo. The Poo is a toboggan going down hill too, I have to lay that sled on it's side when working downhill on steep slopes in the trees. The Doo seems to work better in the heavy wet snow we have had lately too. In the fluffy stuff the Pro beats the XP by a decent amount.
I will get the clutching sorted out and test them some more.
FYI, Pro is running 8000-8100, the ETEC is 7800-7900.

that's why it's better to just ignore him. he is just trolling, does it all the time. never actually contributes anything useful. and this will just add fuel to the fire...

not sure on the xp but you will notice a pretty significant difference getting another 250 rpm out of the pro. personally, i like to run mine between 8200-8300+. that way when you really load it or gain a little more elevation is are still pulling well over 8000. big difference over 7600 or 7800. but for just straight power, the xp still has the advantage over the pro.

Nice Ride

I spent this past Monday on a 13 Pro, they are a sweet sled and you really can tell a difference with the weight savings on this sled. My dealer was nervous when I started to climb some of the chutes :) If I didn't love my 12 so much I would be on a 13 Pro next year the changes really make a difference.

Enjoy:rockon:

Been sledding for 30 years, video does no justice to the terrain. If you have done a video and watched yourself you know what I mean.

That is impressive in that type of snow, I honestly agree with your feelings on the manners of the pro. Polaris hit a home run on chassis, now they need a little, key little work on the motor. If you have ever pulled out a dead sled with the pro you will however appreciate the torque of the motor, that is what keeps it competitive. I love my 174*3 pro, will have a 858 in it soon. Will keep my 162 stock for fun factor in less snow.

Why do you think the Pro clutching is off 200-250? Seems like it is pretty close to me

When I seen the retro in the Polaris catalog I thought it was ugly but in person it really is a good looking sled. The blue really stands out in the sun but I'm not to fond of the "Polaris" on the side.

I was hoping someone would notice the angle on the slope and see how steep it was.

I would never have took the XM in that situation because the snow was so much harder the day I had the 13 Pro. I wish I could have had the 13 Pro the day I demoed the XM to compare side by side but there is no way I would have took the XM into that group of trees for filming, It would have been worse then just a small roll over.

Was going to ride the XM up here so I could see the difference in the power for and ride myself. Not that I do not think Snowmobiler is biased but figured I would try myself. I had some issue (in Valdez I think) with the throttle, it stuck and hit a wall (Brick). Now it is Demo'd into tiny pieces. No ride here so I guess I will wait until next fall.
Thanks for the video.
