2013 polaris went into Detonation mode need advice

okay so the sled has slp full pipe and a dyno jet power commander with it , with a slp fuel map installed for 4-7000 ft ... ran good all day long dropped down onto a lake for a decent pull , made it right to the top and it started acting funny , looked down at my display and the Detonation Code appeared ... any ideas why this would be happening , and i was in the elevation it is tuned for... thanks

aswell as im looking for some venting for the side panels ... whats out there for options?? looking for something that looks nice and clean
 
If it was brief and corrected after you shut off, it could have hit the rev limiter??

kk thanks guys , it has a clutch kit in it with heavier weights was hitting 8150, was chevron 94 octane but you never know could have been sitting in tanks for awhile , aswell as the vent kits whats all available out there?

Is there a way to tell a difference if it is the Rev limiter or the fuel? I had this happen to me too on my '12 right at the end of a long hard pull.
 
Try putting it in ethanol fuel mode and see if that helps. My wife's 13 Pro 800 with my her riding it (115lbs) will hit the det on light load on the trail or lake even with mtx 68g fully loaded with 6g(total 74g), stock primary spring, 60/42/.36 Helix at 0-3000ft. Her riding her 11 Pro I had a similar set up except running a 10-68g weights and she didn't hit det once after I did the swap. So I think the 13 is def pulling harder cause it pulls more weight and still overtachs on light load with her, even with me on it(210lbs) I still pull like 8200rpm. So first try the ethanol mode, and if that doesn't work, try throwing more weight at your mtx weights... The 13s rip for sure!

no aftermarket head just the stock one... im usually always running in the 4-7000 ft range ! just full slp pipe and dyno jet programmer and clutch kit
 
Are you running the 2012 map or the 2013 map? I have the same pipe on my 13 and I set the det sensor off one time at 8500ft but I believe I over reved not sure because I didn't look at my tach....I also thought maybe fuel so I started running a little bit of av gas in my tank and installed the 13 map and never had a problem...The 12 map is pretty lean on the 13's.

it is there newest map i was told, so im assuming its the 13 fuel map, i talked to slp today it is 70-247 ( Fuel map)
 
Every sled can be a little different.

My '13 was broken in easy and runs VERY strong (especially sinced it only has 132HP lol) compared to the other 160+hp '13's. I'm stock still except for loading the primary.
I run 91 non-ethanol (check it myself) but MY sled runs noticably stronger and smoother in the ethanol mode.

Try it you may like it, especially if you are shifting closer to the torque peak.

without the power commander they will not warranty the sled if something happens , that came from my dealer and they recommend the programmer with the pipe for sure !!

Will they warranty it if ya put the stock pipe back on and take off the power commander? That pipe and box really doesnt add that much to a stock sled.
If anything it would eliminate the factor of aftermarket parts....then you would know if ya have a bigger issue.

yes they will warranty it still if i put the stock stuff back on , kind of like the sound of the pipe etc , was told from SLP that the polaris has a setting in the computer that makes it run richer up to 300 miles??? i was wondering about this because since ive put the programmer and pipe on my fuel milage is about the same of my 09 Carb Ski doo i use to ride , so is this true
