2013 pc800 BD turbo hard to pull start?

It seems like ever since installing my turbo, my sled is really hard to pull start(especially when cold) The motor has 600 miles. I am running Boondocker intercooled TiAl turbo at 9-10lbs on 100ll AV gas. Is this normal or should I be concerned? It runs perfect once started.

You need a hot start switch...it tricks the water temp sensor so its easier to start, especially after a long pull and the motor is heat soaked.

Seems pretty normal from all turbos I've bin around. Mines TERRIBLE if colder than -15c. The problem is with the high flow fuel pumps it doesn't make enough voltage until your turning it over around 3000rpm. When she's that cold it's impossible!! If I know I'm going to need to start it on very cold morning I just bring a little battery outta motorbike an run the fuel pump on that, an it will start in like 5 pulls. (Then good to go all day) Also do you have the cold start switch flipped?

He said HARD to start when cold- has nothing to do with HEATSOAK

Yes, Turbo sleds are harder to start when cold, welcome to the Club. I left my sled out all night on Friday and it was hard to start on saturday morning. it took 8-10 HARD pulls.

You do know that you flick your "HOT START" (cold start)switch to start it when it's cold an it's like a choke an 100 times easier to start right????

I dunno if boondocker kits come with one by the looks of things. Didn't know that till I just did some looking into it.

snopro69 switch

so u turn the switch off during a cold start do u hold the throttle down or NOt for better cold start???

Cold start--- switch off no throttle till she fires. WAY easier to start (it's essentially the same as a choke then) Make sure as many electrical things r off too helps big time. I put a switch on my gauges an make sure warmers are off.

I have a 10 hcr with boondocker, if it dont start in 3 pulls something is weird. (I only run about 3 gallons of 110 with it) I do however know that 100% race gas makes it very hard to start, i am assuming Av gas would be the same.

If you find more about this hot start or where i can get one that would be great. Sucks burning your hand to unplug the sensor on a heat soak.

All the switch does is "unplug" the temp switch like your talking about (with out burning your hand haha) Just wire a on/off switch in series with the temp sensor wiring. Off is for cold an heat soak starts. On is normal running.

On my push kit it gets heat soaked and it sucks big time to start. I do have the hot switch and it really don't seem to work? The only thing I found to work is carry a little bottle of starting fluid and give her a squirt.

I read a post on here some where about a primer how would one go about putting one on a proclimb? Just tap a new hole in the tank

I've heard of a guy using his return line as a source, but if it returns above fuel level then that is no bueno.

Any type of fuel tolerant bulkhead fitting would work. Then make sure you have a suction hose down low in the fuel tank.

I also use a resistor on my hot start switch to simulate 100 degree water instead of an open circuit. It starts without extra fuel then all I use the primer for is cold starts.

One cold night mine didnt want to start so I also unpluged the hood to not power the lights & guage and that seemed to help also, only had to do that once, the heat soak switch works for me and I turn off handwarmers & thumbwarmer

I have over 2000 miles on my boondocker and have never had a problem with it starting on 1 or 2 pulls, three when cold. Some buddies have push and cutler kits and they can be a little harder, but the cold start switch usually takes care if it. I wonder if it could be the leaded fuel?
