Mine was showing signs of uncured glue..Took it back to dealer they confirmed it was a bad shaft..This was a week ago..New shaft just came in..Should be picking up later today..Not sure if its 2012 shaft yet..Also rumor is Polaris will be making there announcement today regarding driveshaft.

Yes, please let us know or "I will find you and I will kill you" (in my best liam neeson voice)

It's later, NOW. What is it, what is it?

Waiting on the phone call saying its ready to pick up.Gonna call near close time too see if they were able to get it done today..If by chance its not ready I'll get some details on the new shaft.

I know what your getting at, however I think your numbers are wrong. If we are to assume this poll is a representation of actual numbers, we should also conclude that more than 50% of sleds have hit the snow. The numbers don't like, of all the votes on here there is less than 50% that have voted that they have not ridden yet, which means more than 50 have.

Well... one thing I'd say, the folks on here are probably more likely to be "enthusiasts", the types that are willing to perhaps stretch to get a ride in, get on the snow a bit sooner & maybe ride a little harder. I know tons of folks that have never thought of being on a forum, that buy a sled, ride it 6 times a year, and go get a new one every other year or so, I'd guess that guy isn't likely to be on here voting, ans even once he DOES hit the snow, he's not as likely to break things that are borderline.

We've got to keep in mind which slice of the demographic we're looking at here, I don't feel it's PERFECTLY representative, but it's an idea.

Did you find out anything?:bounce:

I predict it will be another glued/extrusion. I would be very surprised by anything else! Please ask if they got the part from Polaris, or canabalized a sled that they already have? Thanks

Alright got the sled back now..Here's the info I got..take it for what its worth.

Its the same 2013 driveshaft from polaris and suppose to be tested and 10x stronger as mentioned in another thread. The end cap is suppose to be the same so not sure how they made it stronger.

Polaris was suppose to release all affected serial numbers today but didn't happen for whatever reason.

My drive shaft that was replaced had the end cap not fully pushed into the shaft which was noticeable from there being a 1mm gap on one side with the other being flush.

The way to check if yours is possibly a issue is to watch the lower belt drive sprocket lip for a wobble with the track off the ground and side panel removed. It will be more noticeable when it slows down as it will look bent.

The driveshafts aren't backordered but not being sent out without a warranty claim. I got mine back in 8 days I think it was.

I think this weekend will be either a redemption(minimal failures) for Polaris or the nail in their coffin(many new failures). Many places will get 2-4' of snow this weekend, so people will finally be getting out in large numbers to ride in deep snow. Good luck to us all. :face-icon-small-ton

Hmmmm, same aluminum shaft, same end cap, but 10X stronger? I don't know what to say. :face-icon-small-con Maybe the 10X stronger is just the marketing buzz they want to create to blunt the fear reaction?

Well I must say I was disapointed today upon inpection for my trip to Revy, that one of my Pros drive shaft had broke the glue and moved a little. So its at my dealers waiting to get fixed with a new shaft. Factory does have them, but don't know wether its any better. So the only good news at this time is they are shipping a shaft and I wasn't stranded. Life goes on.

There were 6 2013's I saw running around brundage yesterday. Mine made it out just fine (30 miles) Didn't see by others on tow ropes either.

I'm with you, anxious to see how many idaho riders get towed in this weekend!

Most of the failures seem to be with less than 50 miles, but I have also seen photo's of sleds with as many as 300 miles that failed, so I don't think there is a certain mileage where we can sigh with relief and say "ya, I got a good one".

There may not be as many riders out as I first thought. I just looked at the snow depth map for the western states. The only places that have any real snow in the lower 48 is a couple areas in Idaho, there is good deep snow in the northern Cascades of washington, and some good snow surrounding Yellowstone, but that's about it. Danged Canadians have deeeeeep snow in BC already.

I'm afraid this La Nina winter will mean nothing but rain for the lower elevations this year. Sigh..................:face-icon-small-fro

I'm going riding every day for the next several days, I pray my shaft stays together.

Just as soon as they give us the name of the glue manufacturer, then we can look it up on the internet, and verify. Keep your eyes and ears peeled.
