2013 assault tunnel wrap , black and white

Looks killer I have the same sled but mine is a 144, I was thinking of doing this and now that I saw this I'm definitely doing it, I'm not doing the white just the black.

looks awesome man! i hope mine turns out even half that good. im nervous about doing mine.

the matte black film is a little harder to work with. I find myself using my bare hands more than a tool or squeegee to manipulate the film into place. I have yet to find a tool that doesn't leave some degree of marking on the film. On the top section work from the centre out. Start right on top of the brake light wire cover and go from there.

Ive got my tunnel completely stripped down...no taillight, taillight wire cover, piece that snowflap mounts to, seat, tank, tank pads, and running boards.. My idea was to use 3 different pieces of film. one for the center between the two channels and then a piece for each side that goes from the channel down to where the running board mounts. How do you think that will work?

It's going to end up being five pieces even with it stripped down. The top section is one. The edges ( where I wrapped in white) are there own sections. Then the tunnel sides. That's the best way to go about it.

so where the black side piece and the white edge piece meet...would it be hard to work a single piece into that crack? is that why two seperate pieces would work better?

ya the white section installs first, I cut a piece 65in x 2.5in and lay it on then heat form it to fit. Once thats done i take an olfa knife(9mm blade) and run it along the bottom edge of that aluminum. It cuts a perfectly straight line. Then the black side section goes on. 65inx10.5in leaving some overlap at the top edge. Once its formed into place use the knife and cut along that edge again to trim off the black. Triming is the same along the rail where the seat slides in.

How well do you think it will hold up being laid over those rivets on the top of the tunnel? I have my 12 Assault wrapped but it started to bubble around each rivet midway through last season.

Well the all black wrap I did last year to a buddy's pro has held up very well in those areas. I can't see this being an issue with the 1080 series 3M film.

just do a google search for 3M 1080 scotchprint. There are shops all over selling the stuff. I get mine from my supplier shadowshield.ca in Calgary Alberta
