2013 800 electrical issue

2013 800 pro, stator connector got hot and melted. Looking into why. Sled never had headlights as it’s always been a mod sled before I finally just put in a stock 800. I added a couple of small led light on the hood(this year) just to have light incase I got caught in the dark. Dont know if this would be the issue or do I have a ground with the handlebar warmers or perhaps regulator/rectifier issue???? Was really cold for the week of riding so warmers where used a lot but seemed to be working fine. Maybe a little too hot at times??? Thank for any help

Pretty common on the Pros; I’ve had 4 Pros and 2 of the 4 had this happen. I just cut out the plug and used a 4 wire trailer plug and soldered it in.
