Yamaha rolled out a new sales event recently. You either get some customer cash with special financing OR less cash + low payments, OR customer cash, new wrap and financing. Is anyone out there buying a new Yami this year?

Personally I bleed blue, but the lack of changes in the Nytro has me frustrated, and the option of a wrap (BNG) is more like a slap in the face when you consider the HUGE changes the other three brands have made in the last few years. As it stands if I was buying a new sled this year I'd be on a Pro...and it hurts a little to say that.

What you want is coming...

I sure hope so because my nytro will be paid off by this spring and I plan on making it my backup sled to the new one Im going to be getting next year. if no changes to yamaha for 2014 model year, I will be riding another brand.

What you want is apparently coming! A local rep spilled the beans "a little" the other day.

1) No more fox shocks--will be using lighter weight coils
2) Lighter setup
3) Re-design sled overall
4) Turbo option at least ---as usual!

I'm optimistic, so I'm not buying a second nytro to build. I think Yamaha is starting to realize that they have the opportunity to compete in the mountain market much better than they have. I can say it's nice to see Chris Brown riding a t-nytro in the 509 films.

Chris told me last year that Yamaha would have a Chris Brown style sled for sale this year. May have heard him wrong as it sounds like spring is the time that a redesigned sled is coming. If Yamaha would build a Nytro more like everyone mods their sled now they would have a huge hit. Factory 225-240HP with less weight, better front suspension and a modern skid and a 2.5" 163 track they would have a winner. If they did it really right I think people would pay 18-20K for that sled as described.

Absolutely, I would have no problem paying for something thats almost perfect. I say almost because I freaking can't leave anything OEM. I always find something!

thanks

We've been holding our breath for a couple of years now...no one wants to see them succeed more than I do, so fingers are crossed yet again for some serious changes next year.

I must be a cheap bastard. I have a hard time paying 10 thousand for a new sled. But then again I've never ridden a turbo sled.

Yamaha did just release a supercharger that is good for +45 HP as a GYTR accessory. A little pricey, but I think this is about where they'll end up if they offered a boosted sled from the factory.

Yamaha to Offer Trail Supercharger Kit for FX Nytro

Company to distribute new low-elevation, forced induction upgrade from Mountain Performance Inc. by mid-October 2012
--------------------------------------------------------
Yamaha Motor
Corporation U.S.A. announced it will distribute the Trail Supercharger kit, a low-elevation bolt-on, premium pump-gas upgrade for its FX Nytro models and exclusive to Yamaha from Mountain Performance Inc. (MPI). The supercharger provides instant throttle response and a power increase of up to 45 horsepower over stock.

The Trail Supercharger kit is designed and engineered to provide quality installation, fit and finish with no modifications to the Nytro’s hood or side panels. All wiring uses stock-style connectors, eliminating the need to cut or splice the wiring harness.

MPI’s experts designed this kit to work seamlessly with Yamaha fuel injection system components and to use the stock exhaust. The result is a performance boost while delivering day-to-day operational characteristics similar to the stock sled.

Designed to fit 2008-to-2013 FX Nytro, Nytro RTX, Nytro RTX SE, Nytro XTX and Nytro XTX 1.75 snowmobiles, this kit includes a tunnel-mounted auxiliary cooler, a set of accessory ice scratchers, and all necessary clutch and gearing calibration components. It includes a one-year limited warranty from the manufacturer.*

Base MSRP is $4,399.95, and Yamaha expects to begin delivery by mid-October 2012.

I just made a deal on a T Nytro tonight. Super stoked. It has everything I wanted. If a guy had to build this sled it would be about $25K with everything new. So expensive to throw 2/3s of a sled away to get what you want. Yamaha engine reliability and clutching is just phenomenal. All the mods that people want are already out there. Yamaha just needs to get smart and make an Infiniti or Lexus like upgrade package. All the mountain specific mods, 240HP stock with warranty, RTR weight of 575lbs and they would sell more than they could make.

Hey don't forget volvo safety on top of the Infiniti/Lexus mods!

I put a deposit on(hope to have it brought over by a buddy who is coming to the Puyallup snow show) on a 2009 T Nytro, MCXpress 270HP kit, Skinz front end with Raptors, updated 2011 KMOD with Raptors, Shockwave Helix, Trail Tank, relocated steering(not sure what style yet) and a few more goodies.

Looks good MM:thumb:
Are you going to the Puyallup snow show? Hard to believe it's almost here already!

MTN VIPER yes I am. I need a couple of roll over valves too. One for the Yami and one for an AC 1100T. Is Oregon Trail Sports a dealer for you?

Btw, that pic doesn't show the Skinz front end with Raptors, pic was before the install.
