I have read alot of rumors out there as to what can be purchased with the snow check form Polaris for 2012. Mabye this will help put this to rest.
When you snow check any Polaris sled, you can purchase a selection of the panels for $349:

Red Assault
White Assault
800 Pro RMK white
800 Pro RMK black
Rush 800 Pro LE orange
Rush 800 Pro LE white
Rush 800 Pro R red
Rush 800 Pro R white
600 Switchback Pro R black
600 Switchback Pro R white
800 Switchback Pro R black
800 Switchback Pro R Red

You can purchase a switch back seat in Black, Red and White from the Assault for $299 if your sled does not come with the option to select it.

There are also some covers available at special prices.

That is the official list.

Happy Riding....

Side panels

So then, can a person get the orange panels for a Switchback Assault 144?

No, if it's not on the list you can't get it at the snowcheck price. You can order them at the normal Polaris price however.

Uh, so you can put the Black 800 Pro RMK panels on an Assault? Do they come with the decals on them?

I just talked to my dealer about the side panels.

I was told that I can only buy the panels listed on the snowcheck page for the specific sled.

Eg, If I order the Switchback Assault, I only get the option of buying the other two colors of the crazy graphics. I can't buy panels from a different sled.

The way I understood your post is that I could buy a Switchback Assault in crazy graphics and then for $349, I could buy the "800 Switchback Pro R Red" panels. Dealer says no...only options are the 2 crazy panels.

Has anybody been successful with this? If so, how do I instruct my dealer how to do it?

Thanks

Wonder if you will need to get someone else to order them for you. I am 99% sure I will be getting a 163 and could order a set of panels for someone else.

I live in a western suburb of minneapolis.

So for the covers, are you talking about the $189 snowcheck "special" cover. Seems a little steep for a cover. Any idea if the polyester cover is better than the canvas?

My dealer said to just order the accessories when the sled comes in too.

Dan, who is your dealer?

I'm in Minneapolis as well. I just got of the phone with my dealer(Moon Motors) *again* and he said that the system will only allow him to order the two crazy optional panels for the Assault 144. He is going to look into it, because I told him others were successful with getting the panels in the list above for $349...regardless of sled they ordered..

I'd like to give your dealer a call.

Thanks

Here is the info that I have from the Polaris factory regarding SnowCheck of the BASE MODEL RMKS

" Yes – you can snow check any sled (except the 120) and apply the warranty, etc. offers, but the “select” options (track choice, seat, electric start, etc.) options only apply to specifically called out Snow Check Select models.

The website is built around these – you can still use $600 towards gear if you snowcheck a base, but the online application isn’t geared for it and you would have to add those manually with the dealer if you want them delivered at the time of snow check, or buy goods separately in the Fall. "

For those still on the fence as to what to spend $ on, consider this: Mike Bedard, Polaris Engineering Manager, and his two other Iron Dog Ambassador Team teammates put over 4,000 combined miles on a trio of Adventure Switchbacks in this year's event. To quote Mike "We are already making changes to our products based on information gathered during the event." This is mentioned only as a lot of the "information" was gathered during a tough 150 mile stretch through the Alaskan wilderness in chest deep snow.

Also, everyone needs to get an 012 brochure and on the fifth flip of the page all the different chassis' offered are featured without the plastic. This is the coolest thing ever. Makes choosing easy.

My dealer explained it to me that you can only order the replacement panels that are listed for that snowmobile. I wish it were different, at least for the Assaults!

Hummm...I guess my dealer was right :face-icon-small-con. Now I feel like an A$$. Not really, but should have check into it more before telling him that others were able to buy panels that were not part of their snowcheck config.

Looks like I'm stuck with the psychedelic Assault....or buying panels outside of snowcheck for $500+
