It was slow. First time there were open spots for vendors. For some reason, the show isn't attracting as many vendors. Hopefully something is in the works to attract more people and more vendors next year rather than maintain the status quo.
This is the first one I have been to and i was dissapointed in the show. There was not a lot of vendors there besides clothing distributors. Just thought I would see a lot more aftermarket vendors.
This was my first time going, I was a little disappointed as well. There were tons of clothing distributors, but I don't need any gear. I have a new sled I wanted to buy some goodies for, but I ended up not spending a dime. Just didn't see anything worth buying, aside from some Exits. Still had fun though. I love being in a sledding environment.
I think the main Idea is to show whats available ,If all the mod parts manufacturers brought in tons of stuff there dealers would have nothing to supply you with, parts or support ..
Not alot of advertising to bring people out to the show. You never hear it on radios, or see it in dealers shops.
As for why there is not as many venders? simple: customers dont spend as much these days. Or if they do, they prefer to buy online with free shipping. Many venders find it much more cost effective to provide samples at the show and have customers order online. Venders track sales from shows and its obvious over the last few years that consumers tend to not purchase large products, or products over $500 on the spot.
To me, growing the show is a two step process. 1) The show staff needs to do a better job advertising the show and enticing people to come out AND they need to provide incentives to draw in new vendors 2) consumers need to come out and buy and not just kick tires.
Personnally... I found LOTS of goodies, along with clothing! But as I was there as a display, I had no "play money". (the trip for me cost $900.00+ out-of-pocket, though it will be reimbursed) A Z-broz front end for $500.00! (complete w/ shocks!) I wanted that one REAL bad! Someone was lucky that I couldnt buy that! We came home with 2 Cool Airvents, will be ordering Mountain Addiction gear and came home with the track rack. Made a connection for a turbo (hopeing I can make that one happen!)...everything I was looking for was there!
