2012 RMK 600 155

I am looking at purchasing a 2012 RMK 600 155 (standard/non Pro optioned) and wanted to get some feedback on what to lookout for on this sled. Currently the sled has about 4,100 miles on it and has some damage to the dash and side panel from being rolled over recently. I know the 600's have always been one of Polaris' more reliable engines and want to know if the newer 600's were just as good? Please let me know your thoughts on what things to really look over close. Also please feel free to share your experiences if you own, or have owned a 2012 600 RMK 155. THANKS!

Great sled but at 2500 kms my 2013 is a bit down on compression. Check compression before you buy, should be around 120 psi.

good sled, like he said check the compression. The motor is not perfect though. I have a 12' and went through 2 crank seal/cylinder/pistons so far this year. The 6's are fun but I will be getting an 8 next year.

Thank you to the both of you for sharing your experiences with the 600 RMK's. I will bring my compression gauge and do a quick check to see if she is at least 120 lbs or not.

We have 3000 total miles on 4 different 600's (10 rmk, 12 rmk, 14 pro-rmk, 07 sb ) and have had no engine issues on any of them. sb had 300 miles when we bought it, all others bought new with zero issues other than the 12 having a recall done on the oil lines and the sb fuel re mapped. Yes they do not have the power or grunt of the 800, but they are reliable, still very respectable power(the best 600 motor on the market) and gets us back down the trail every day.

Can you elaborate a little more on what failed and at what mileage?
You don't hear about many 600's going down.

The crank seal went out on the pto side at around 1500 miles. Leaned out and squeaked the piston.
All in all not a bad sled just saying they all have problems. just to note difference between a 6 and a 8 pretty big in deep powder.
Also depending on your elevation the compression will vary. At my altitude 5400' in denver you only get about 100#. It is more important that you dont have more than 5# difference between them.

I wanted to give an update, I ended up purchasing the 2012 RMK 600 for $3,900 which I thought is a heck of a deal. The engine seems to run excellent and it has 122 lbs. compression on both cylinders. The left side panel is crack but I already purchase a replacement set that were new take offs. I still need to replace the MFD due to being cracked but other then that it should be a good sled.

Thanks for all your input!

Sounds like a good deal , I have 3,200 mi. on my 12 RMK 600 144 trouble free. Currently have two other 600 Poo's and had a couple more over the years and have never had a motor failure. ( knocking on wood :-)

That is a real deal!

I just bought a 2010 600 RMK to replace my 2013 PRO 800 that I sold. I have a 2013 PRO 600 too. I thought I would just ride the 2010 until the snow checks came out but I'm having a riot on it. I'm sticking with 600's.

You have a great sled. Enjoy it.
