2012 pro with Silber not building any boost

I have a 2012 pro rmk with a 12 silber kit..
for some reason I'm not building any boost.. I've tried everything to figure out the problem with no luck.. no leaks anywhere.. oil is pumping..
Here's what its doing.. when it was running right on lowest boost 5-6 pounds and id kill the engine you could hear the turbo wind down through the airtube.. now I get no boost and cant hear turbo wind down when I shut off..
took off airtube from turbo to throttle body and turbo fins spin freely but didn't seem like they were spinning very fast when I fired sled up...
guys with silber turbo when you fire up your sled and shut it off can you hear the turbo spool down a lil ?? I recall when mine was running right it would spool down even if I fired it up for 5 seconds and shut it right off..
I'm thinking its bad turbo... any comments or thoughts appreciated..
spoke with Justin and trouble shooted his ideas still no luck..
thanks, kris

Make sure to check the throttle body orings for leaks. Mine did the same thing, no turbo whistle, wouldn't build more than 4-5 psi. Ended up all 4 orings were shot and leaking. I swapped them out with the viton o rings. Afterwards the turbo built correct 10-12 psi and whistle was back. Hope that helps. PITA to swap out the o rings too.

May be totally off base cause have no experience with the pro turbo. I had an apex with garrett 2860 that did like u describe. The wastegate actuator rod broke and the waste gate was stuck wide open. Maybe something to check. Good luck

thanks guys for the info... checked actualater and the rod was closing to get full boost but wasn't boosting... its almost like the inside piece that opens and closes in the turbo to build boost broke and wont boost... the orings on throttle body could be it but would those being bad cause the turbo to not spool when shutting sled down? that def looks like a pita to get to...
thanks.. is there a way to check o rings without the tear down?

Can you check your center section? How much play is there?

If I remember right, when I have had a boost leak a time or two, the turbo didn't unspool like before.

Its not pig rich is it? injector stuck open, fuel controller failing, something like that? If the wheel is wet it wont build boost.

Just a suggestion, I'm no turbo expert but if it's a '12 kit, does it still have the blue air line running to the fuel controller to sense boost? I don't know if that icing up internally could be affecting your boost? Maybe it's loose from your controller? Try checking/thawing/blowing air through that blue boost sense line?

Once again, just suggestions based on what I've seen of Silber kits

blue line did ruin one of my trips before knowing about that problem.. did the blow out and de thaw trick to fix... took back part of turbo off to see if fins were spinning and they do spin when fired up.. and they spin by hand but no play at all when I try to push up down or try and move that part any direction.
I heard there supposed to have a lil play..
love turbo's hate turbo's love turbo's hate turbo's
riding a turbo is a emotional roller coaster lol..
thanks for any input

I don't really hear my turbo spool down too much when I shut the sled off. Its certainly not like the ball bearing Garrett turbos. Those u can really hear

To visually inspect the o-rings, shine a light at your throttlebodies and see if you see oily blowby on the throttlebody. That is how I knew mine blew, made everything messy...

Mine did this exact symptom my second last ride this year.
Tore it apart and couldn't find anything. until i found my exhaust sensor laying in the bellypan. there was a neat hole around the weld that held in the bung.
just a thought, i didn't notice it because i was looking a the turbo,o-rings,ect.

welded it up and works great.

Have you...

Pulled the exhaust off and inspected the Turbine wheel for damage? I'm sure you have checked the pipe/Y-pipe to make sure it doesn't have a split seam somewhere? sounds like a simple problem, but...

I've done most of these suggestions and they haven't fixed the issue..
I will be tearing sled down again tomorrow going through all these potentials again...
If I take the hose off that runs from turbo to throttle body and fire sled up would u feel a small amount of air flow coming out of turbo? maybe my fins got Bent on the to throttle body side and now isn't producing proper air flow..
anyone by chance have a pic of what the fins should look like on exit side and how fast and easy they should be spinning... when running and by hand..

I might of had a couple pieces of duct tape come off air intake connection into the fins wondering if that could have bent fins or maybe damaged them..

thanks for all the comments hopefully I figure it out soon....

How do you cap the turbo inlet? I tried a plastic bag bit it leaked by.
