2012 pro rmk 600 buzzing noise

got a 2012 pro rmk 600 with 800 miles on it. been out west and it seems like whenever it parks on a extreme angle and you start it, the motor makes a buzzing noise.

anyone else heard this on their 2012?

I'm sure its the fuel pump or something.

Ps. the sleds doesn't run any different, runs like a top and this is a very intermittent noise

Mostly likely the pickup filter in the tank is getting plugged up. It will make the pump noisy and could also cause a lean fuel condition.

now the pump is constantly making a buzzing noise. It is very evident when you remove the gas gauge (which also doesn't work!).

I have one more day of riding, I hope it makes it thru and then I will bring it to the dealer for them to figure out (got the 4 yr extended warranty).

I'll let you know what it exactly was when they fix it.

I have a 2012 pro 800 that has been making that same buzzing noise since it was new. It doesn't do it all the time, it seems like it's more often when I'm going slower through the trees at lower rpm's. I'm curious as to what you find out.

First, put your ear down next to the tank to see if the noise is coming from that area. Removing the fuel cap/gauge may help. If still uncertain, use the fuel prime plug and power up the fuel pump without the motor running and see if it's noisy.

If the pump is your noise source, check all the lines and fuel pickups in the tank. You may have to pull the fuel pump to do this. I'm thinking with the problem being intermittent you may have something that gets sucked up against one of the pickups and then gets dislodged. If you don't find anything you may also want to replace the fuel filter. Restrictions will cause the fuel pump to buzz or be noisy.

Good luck.

I had the same issue last week in Tog, we took the return fuel line off and about 3 seconds after we discontented it it shot fuel across the shop, doesn't make sense that the return line was plugged but it was, i had a severe bog and suspect was the fuel pump or filter, the pump was kind of wheezing when we hooked it to the computer to test fuel pressure. we cycled the fuel pump 3 times into a pail and it worked just fine and no wheezing, the bog is gone also witch is strange! i guess i would check the return fuel line for plugging!

Good luck hope this helps

the whinning was definitely from the fuel pump.

now the whining is completely gone. hooked a fuel pressure guage up and it read a very steady 61 psi.

it it does it again i will try the return line thing too.

how hard is it the yank the pump. the manual talks about a fancy tool needed and being careful, lol

I didn't have the fancy tool and managed without it. I bought the $30+ gold plated gasket per the manual and reused the old one as it appeared perfect. No leaks since pump removal. The fuel pressure read correctly on mine, but I did have problems so beware. The fuel pickup lines in the tank on mine had disintegrated.

I might have one more ride on it and then stored for the summer. did you just use a rubber strap wrench to the fuel pump out?

I most likely won't do this until next fall but just curious
