I am thinking about snow checking a 2012 w/Super charger., Just wondering if they can be dialed back to run below 6000'? I would need to use it at home a little. Thanks in advance!
I ride mine from 2700 to 8000 and have no problems. It just makes a little more boost at lower elevation. 90% of my riding is between 4 and 6. When I asked MPI about the issue they said it was fine as long as you do NOT run race gas. They advised it would not run very well at lower elevations without anything other than pump. That was good news to me because I planned on running 50/50 but didnt ever need to waste my money. That being said, I have never tried race gas so I cant coment on any performance changes. It sounded to me like the 6000ft was to keep the boost levels down to a "safer" range for yamahas waranty issues.
